Sorry, this sounds awful because I should know.... post up a postcode somewhere near you and I'll gladly check it.

Hi there if i place an additional order do i need a nil balance before it will be shipped? I havent collected all of the money in yet but customer desperately needs bits asap?

Avon should ship your next order provided your A/c balance is below £20 ;) If that's still a problem for you, PM me and I'll give you another pointer. ;);)

Gosh I hadn't realised how lucky I am getting the road we live in and the next two roads to us!!!
I've reached the £78 MOV for C12 so I can go on my holiday knowing the £50 cash back is mine yippee.
I know any items that are unavailable will be deducted but I still have books to give to all the people I am taking orders to tomorrow so maybe I will even hit the £144 target :o)
I thought I may print a little note to put in with the books saying that we will collect your book on 15th July but if you don't want to keep it until then please pop it through my door. And then I'll write their house number on the order form so that I will know who I have got books from.
I feel a bit uneasy (and I'm sure my DH would) saying this is my address and I won't be back from holiday until such a date so if my note is a bit more subtle than that I think that could be a plan.
Can't wait for my delivery to come tomorrow:j

Well done, DLD. Have a great holiday but TBH am not sure about doing a general note about you're being away/your home being empty. Why not just leave it that you will be collecting your next book later 'for personal reasons' and leave it at that?

Aww hun hope you feel better soon.

You can submit a message online using the "contact us" bit of the website, and there is an option for resigning...but if one of your customers wants to take it on then not the best way to go. I'd suggest getting your customer to apply online using the official avon website...then the asm (or whoever is covering if its that they're on holiday/ill) will get in touch, and then they can explain they want to take over your round. If they join with another sales leader, then they will have to try and get the area manager to transfer your territory over to their account as sales leaders cannot do this themselves, only the asm. Hope you get something sorted, if you have no joy, pm me your area, and I will find out who your asms boss is so that you can email them.

edit - not sure about the phone number to be honest, I know it's cheaper than the old number avon had. To be honest though, if you ring avon up, you're only going to get them at the call centre say only the area manager can deal with this, we will email her. Which obviously you've already done yourself, so I wouldn't bother ringing :)

Thanks Lozza. ASM has finally replied & will get things going with the 'new' rep. Glad to get it all off my hands. I so appreciate your contribution to this thread & cannot believe I'm not part of the avon world anymore. Feel sad. Still..... got to rest rest rest probably for many months.

Or an aerosol, RM won't deliver them due to fire/explosion potential :rotfl:

Hmm... That's a good tip; thanks.

On a similar vein, does anyone know of any couriers who accept aerosols, liquids, creams, etc.? (I have a few customers overseas and generally use the Post Office but it's becoming very hit and miss whether the goods actually arrive or not.)

You can still be part of the Avon world i.e. just look after yourself as a Personal Rep, and deffo no need to leave us here on MSE. Sure you have lots of very useful hints and tips to pass on to newbies and/or just good to come on here for a bit of a 'chat' as/when you feel up to it again.

What would you guys suggest would be the best way to canvass these homes..
    1. Knock and ask
    2. Post books and ask for them back in a couple days and keep doing this
    3. Put notes through asking if they want books?

    or any other suggestions?.

    1. Would definately do this if you are happy to. You can quickly identify the houses that are Avon 'friendly'.

    2. Stuff and run for wimps like me:D. Still effective but not so quick. Pop a note in with tickboxes asking if they wish to receive a brochure to browse. Some don't order for a few books.

    3. Would avoid this. Ok for recanvassing but no's 1 or 2 work best.

If you have 40 books, you could cover your territory in a couple of weeks with fast turnaround. Good luck.

    Welcome to Avon! :T

To add to MM's post, all depends on how many days you have left to your order deadline date, how much time you have, and what you are comfortable doing.....

Am a deffo 'knock and ask' advocate; others prefer to 'stuff and run'. There are pro's and con's for both routes:

Knock and Ask - at least you know your books are with people, who are actually interested in looking

Stuff and Run - sometimes people say No when approached whereas they may actually look at a book if they find it on the mat.

Some people will flatly refuse to place an order until they have met the rep in person; others prefer the 'anonymity'.

So..... your choice! If it helps, try and build up a relationship with your customer base first; once they trust you then things get easier. The hardest part in Avon is to build up your basic customer base. Once you've done that you can use your back books to 'stuff & run'/recanvass your area as/when it suits you.

    Good luck!
