I have handed out my books. Got completely confused with the street layout though! I still can't find where anything above 50 is and I apparently have up to 122....
I had that as well on a few of my roads, I double checked the house numbers using the roy@l m@il websiteTurns out one of my roads jumps from 2-16 to 38-56 to something else (don't deliver to a lot of that road) and the other side goes 1-27 to 53-117. Its great fun living in a heavily bombed during the wars/regeneration area :rotfl::rotfl: Of course thats not including the good old "house converted into flats" trick which also seems popular round here!
Also check whether the road is split by another road or something. I have one road which has 3 different postcodes due to its shape, and another one (not on my territory) will have 4 different postcodes as its split in the middle by a "main" road. Totally confusing for people who don't know the area!
This is the reason I have personally chosen to do a newsletter to go in with my books and personalise the newsletter with the customers address on it - takes quite a bit of time when you have to canvass an entire road but it means I don't end up putting books through to people who don't want them, those that do want to order but don't fill in the their details often leave their newsletter in with the book so I can work out who's order it is and I give people the option not to receive anymore by way of a tick box on the newsletter. If someone ticks (or tells me) no more then I scribble a little note on said newsletter as to why. For example if they have a rep, I just make sure the box is ticked and then write REP in big red letter at the top of it. If they're a bad customer (ie someone who I haven't been able to get the money off on 3 seperate occasions) then I write "choice bad customer" on it so I know when I come to recanvass to avoid that house
HTH
Which reminds me, I need to try and get in touch with AN upliner to check the changes to my territory...not sure who to contact as I have no SL and our ASM has left :eek:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
You should have a new asm starting, or at least someone looking after your area. If you don't have their details, if you send me your postcode I can look up who is showing as covering your area and let you know.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I went out again tonight to scout the street, it definitely doesn't go past 50! Checked the royal mail website like nicki suggested too. Sent my SL a quick text and will ring her tomorrow because it's not leaving me with many housesJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

Sure, it's at the very bottom of the Avon pages (for example, just after you login, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Downloads').0 -
My c5 bill after returns was £31.02
It was a poor campaign though compared to usual so I don't feel too guilty. I know I'll have returns from C6 as well, but thats because I've ordered multiple sizes of things (lots of orders for sandals, so 2 sizes per order!) so as soon as I can put them through I will.
I might even be able to draw some money out as earnings this monthCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning.
I'm wondering how much I should save for my tax bill. I know, thinking way far ahead but I want to be able to have the money and not panic when the bill drops.
I don't have any other income (my husband works, I am a stay at home mum).
Any help would be fabulous.0 -

If Avon's your only source of taxable income (JSA is as well, but Working Tax Credit, for example, isn't) then it's highly unlikely you'll end up with a big enough income to pay tax on it. At least when you first start. The personal allowance for the 2011-2012 tax year is approx. £7500 and it's going up next year. So if your net Avon profit plus any other taxable income is below that figure, you don't pay tax on it. Your net Avon profit is your total turnover (incoming money) minus every single allowable expense you can claim for.
When you ring to register HMRC may offer a free course in your area. I haven't done it myself but it would be worth asking if they have one for you to sign up for.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Evening Ladies & (Gent's) If your here.
I was wondering if anyone could answer some questions for me.
I signed as a SL this week & awaiting to get my training from my ASM. However, I'm a little unsure what the training will be like & what is needed from me. (As some of you know i had a rubbish SL - Never got training for being a rep!) So i'm taking this as a new start.
I'm also starting to hear different terms / Wording which i'm unsure about & therefore i feel i cant answer correctly.
Firstly i have been offered to go on a swoop? Now i have no clue what this is lol
I am being offered to attend SL training & events with exp SL - But again, I was unsure what we needed from me.
I know i will get my answers next week, But i would like some insight as to what i'm able to do..What is needed to run as a good SL
Can i start looking for people now?
Sorry for all the questions...But i always find MSE a lot more helpful then connects. xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
I'm not a SL, but when I discussed it with my ASM she said there would be no pressure to do any particular things such as swoops (going to a high street or shopping centre and setting up a stand and asking people walking past - or basically asking anyone you're passing in the street). She said she'd let me know what was on and it was up to me whether I wanted to go or not.
A high-up SL or ASM will have plenty of flyers, a big sign, samples etc... for whatever public event you do. If you decide to do something yourself ask what they have available to loan you.
One thing I'd make sure I was shown how to use is SMA. There's an online guide but it's such an important tool so I'd rather be shown in person.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here.
