I just put avon rep & sales leader, never had any problems, so long as they can tell what you do then I don't see it matters That much

Lozza's Facebook tips - a belated thank you for this! :) I don't have a FB account personally but have finally got around to looking into it just for Avon. My plan is to have a profile for Avon (and not a personal profile with an Avon page attached).

So from your post am I right in thinking everything I post of my profile will show on my friends' (i.e. customers') walls/newsfeed? I understand people can choose to ignore my updates if they like, but otherwise my updates will show and they won't have to come to my profile to see them?

The plan is to just friend customers or people who live within the area I can serve.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • Hi Everyone,

I keep reading your posts and thought I would let you know how I got on.

I got just under £100 worth of orders from my first campaign and made it up to £150 by buying the bag with samples, demo stuff (Far & Away), some stuff to use as freebies and some stuff for me (Genics)! I did it partly to get the free Genics product for meeting the higher target for my first order and have checked my order online which is being processed and everything I ordered seems to be in stock :)

Can't wait for it to arrive!

I spoke to my ASM (who came round on Friday to see how I was getting on) and we had a look on her computer and she has assigned me some more territory near my son's school so I now have 158 houses. I have 40 brochures so I dropped 36 on Saturday and collected 27 back yesterday evening with 2 orders totalling £30 so I am really pleased.

Going to go round again later to see if I can get any of the other books back and then drop them again Fri for collection on Tues. I am reusing my note and the order forms which say I will collect Tuesday PM so I can't really collect them any earlier. To get round my territory, I am thinking of putting one street on the old brochures. Next time, I may have a rething about what I do in that I might leave the order forms blank so they are easier to reuse and may put a post it on to say when I am collecting. Will see how I go.

Yep if they have you as a friend/like you page, anything you post will show up on their newsfeeds.

For my books, I have some little slips printed off that I resuse, so I don't put anything on my order forms other than a message. The slips just say please leave the brochure outside on Tuesday (etc), for me to collect, thanks, Richard & Laura & our tel number. I print them on coloured paper too so they show up nicely against the book. Bit of an investment in paper & ink but saves so much time & effort.

  • Hey that's a really good idea - I've got 250 houses to cover, and writing 100 order forms gets a bit wearing! Especially since if I make a mistake I have to Tippex it out and it's then looks tacky.

    Thanks Lozza!
  • I got a stamp with my name and phone number on. I stamp all my books, sales books and order forms. I have printed out the slips from the Avon site to put in the bag saying what day I'll collect and I print out stickers with the last order date and to leave it outside. This is working better for me. I post another slip through the door if they're not in and I usually get all my books back by the second time.

Thanks for those great ideas lozza and evanesco. Think I will have to do similar as I am binning order forms!
Spoke to my ASM the other day about some order issues that she has managed to resolve. I said I had called my SL but heard nothing and she said she was a nightmare to get hold of and was in the process of leaving Avon! She had been letting her reps down left right and centre which doesn't bode well.
I am considering becoming an SL myself, I have now been doing Avon a year and feel confident I know what I am doing. I pride myself on being reliable and treating my customers well. My main motivation to be a SL is to give my reps the service and support that I missed out on. The people on here have been fantastic but a SL should be supportive and reliable and available to his/her reps. At the moment I have a nearly 3 year old and a 6 week old so maybe I should leave it a bit, still can anyone give me any advice or the lowdown on being an SL? thought I would ask on here before talking to my SL next week.
