Thanks for those great ideas lozza and evanesco. Think I will have to do similar as I am binning order forms!
Spoke to my ASM the other day about some order issues that she has managed to resolve. I said I had called my SL but heard nothing and she said she was a nightmare to get hold of and was in the process of leaving Avon! She had been letting her reps down left right and centre which doesn't bode well.
I am considering becoming an SL myself, I have now been doing Avon a year and feel confident I know what I am doing. I pride myself on being reliable and treating my customers well. My main motivation to be a SL is to give my reps the service and support that I missed out on. The people on here have been fantastic but a SL should be supportive and reliable and available to his/her reps. At the moment I have a nearly 3 year old and a 6 week old so maybe I should leave it a bit, still can anyone give me any advice or the lowdown on being an SL? thought I would ask on here before talking to my SL next week.

    SL:

This post covers a bit about recruiting :http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=51221459&postcount=1927

Basically - we can get bonuses, but you need 5 reps ordering before you earn from your team, and your sales need to be at least £148 (taking into account returns). There is a bit more to it, particularly for the bonuses, but it would be better talking that through with your asm/sl. Unlike repping, sl is much more long term I always think - for the first few months I spent more than I earnt, but since last June I've only signed up one rep (due to choice, I had a break from recruiting over my wedding/christmas and just haven't got back into it properly since lol - obviously I've been helping my existing reps though) and i've earnt something every campaign from my team so it's great now, it's just getting that stable team that's the problem initially. You will get people waste your time, join and not order, make an appointment and not be in etc etc. But - I wouldn't have been a sl for nearly 3 years if I didn't find it worthwhile, if you're happy to do the initial work then it's great.

I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Does anyone have the link to the C05 magazine, please? I've clicked the link on the first page, but it just comes up with C10.

    Thank you!

I also put printed notes on the front of my books, basically to highlight when am coming back. Takes longer to prep books but saves me time when collecting back in. I also personally address my customer order forms to make sure I never collect an order without knowing who has placed it. Again that takes time but I do it in the evening whilst watching TV so no great effort. I used to 'bin' my order forms when they didn't order but I now cross out the previous campaign no./delivery date and insert the current one - tends to act as a reminder that they didn't order last time so encourages them to order this time. :rotfl:

As for SLship, to add to Lozza's post, if you fancy it then 'go for it'. Unfortunately you've just missed the WOW (enhanced) bonuses and they've gone back to 'normal' :( . The financial rewards for SLship can be described as being 'indirectly proportional to the effort required' i.e. in the initial stages you have to put a lot of effort in for very little return. (That's why we get bonuses in the early stages as Avon realise it does cost you money initially to be a SL.) As you climb the ranks though your financial rewards increase whereas the effort you (need to) put in actually decreases.

To my upliner's dismay I was adamant I wanted to hit PC first before going into SLship; as soon as I hit PC I went SLship and much prefer the latter. Each to their own though.

Good luck - whatever you decide.
Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon ;))

I've just logged in with no problems. When that happens to me I usually shut down the computer (not just reboot, actually shut down) and start again. No idea why it works but 99% of the time it does ;)

Was disappointed yesterday at the amount of orders I got this time round as I was just scraping HOV including books etc. I went out to collect the remaining books last night (I have 2 more to collect on Monday) and I'm glad I dragged myself out despite feeling like death as I've tripled the order value :j:j I have a few things already in stock and I've got to order some alternatives (when bras/shoes are ordered from now on I'm going to order multiple sizes as well as sorting out a customer friendly size guide for the bras!) but this is going to be one hell of a complicated order with all the returns I've got to process this time as well :( This is why I collect my books a week before my order is due, it gives me time to sit down and do creative ordering as well as chase up any later orders ;)

Quick question : I had to do an immediate replacement of a bottle of perfume (box was badly damaged) so I've got a returns form etc for it but I'll have 2 boxes of returns (one is full of the beach towels from the sales book in C4, I mis-ordered :o), is there any way I can put the perfume through with the other returns or am I going to have to do a seperate returns envelope for the one bottle of perfume?

Returning a replacement with normal returns - if I've already done the request (because it needs sending out asap) then I'll have 2 separate returns forms to print out. If I can fit everything in one box I do and just put the same barcode number on both forms.

Setting up on Facebook - well, done the basic setting up. I made a profile and was making an image to put on my e-mail sig to get people to friend me and realised if that's the only option some people won't want to do that (because then I'd see their "friends only" things). So I've got an Avon-oriented profile, but also added an Avon page so people can like that, get updates, but not end up revealing private info to me. Tbh I'm finding it quite user-un-friendly :o but the thing I want it to do is take people to my website (on blogspot) so as long as people can see my updates that will direct them back to the site.
