I am lucky that way I have three grate managers as long as I dont take sales out of territory so what I am planning is my own territoryI am doing it on my account then getting my other sales leaders to do same in the managers area
it was just a thought was good idea but could not see any pit falls but there must be some were.
I will deal with it when I come accross it."It is your decisions, and not your conditions, that determine your destiny".0 -

Caretaking territory - I'm not a SL, but have heard of SLs on Connects doing this. The only pitfall I could think of is, if a rep isn't prepared to cover territory when the weather's bad what's going to happen when the next winter comes along and they have their customer list? Also, if they need a customer list providing for them (to persuade them to do territory in the first place) are they going to re-canvas the territory every-so-often?
I can see how it's a nice bonus to be given a customer list straight away, especially if your area is large and it would take you a while to canvas all of it - so you can prioritise reaching those existing customers. I just wonder how motivated the rep would be if it's a case of "No customer list? Then I just won't cover any territory."I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Quick Q
If I get a few orders by March 7th, but not the minimum order amount of £72, can I still place the order? Will I just not get my 20% discount?0 -

That's right.
Remember that books, bags, stationery etc count towards your total.
If you're close, could be worth bumping up order with few bits for yourself or samples to get your 20% off
Good luckNow proud Mumto3 :j0 -

Hi Everyone
I have read this thread in full (took a couple of days) & have picked up on some really good tips so thanks for sharing!I have just become an Avon rep (have been one before) & my SL was asking if I would be interested in being a SL. I said that I would think about it but was wondering if any of you could give me what your thoughts are on it? Just wanted to know how you go about recruiting new reps etc? Im not working at the moment so I do have the time for it also if anyone could tell me on the commision side etc?
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi
just quick question.
has anybody whos a sales leader tryied getting customer list first by doing the territory then recruit with an up to date customer list.
due to weather people i am signing up they are not doing territory so i have decided to be like a floating rep on territory thats free then get customer list and include a slip in third campaign. asking for a customer to take over round as customers waiting. I was just wondering if anyone has tryied this approach
In theory a good idea but be careful: not only can SLs get locked out of SMA if they use it to search for free territory but SLs are reps too so are only allowed to canvass their own allocated territory for new customers; they can, however, canvass door to door anywhere for new reps and chances are they will find potential new customers along the way.
The other side to the coin though is that if you do all the groundwork for your new rep they will never recanvass the territory themselves to grow their own business....
Another way to grow your team is to 'convert' customers to reps and give them some of your other customers local to them. Means it does 'mess up' any comparison figures re. your customer base but all depends what's important to you.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Well done, Dee; don't forget there are another 7 threads too! :rotfl:
As for SLship, ask your upliner to email you details. They will have hard copies of all the details as well as be able to send you a pdf file. We've been spoiled recently as the bonuses were increased but they're reverting to 'normal'after C5. Basically, SLs earn 2-5% of their team's nett sales provided they achieve certain criteria plus there are Business Development Bonuses for recruiting new team members and qualifying as a SL.
Don't expect SLship to be easy - it takes a lot of time, effort (and a certain amount of financial investment, which is why Avon have the BDB system i.e. to compensate us). It's always considered 'jam tomorrow' and the rewards are generally considered inversely proportional to the effort required e.g. in the beginning you need to put in a lot of effort for very little reward but as you climb the ranks the effort reduces whilst the rewards increase.
Like most things there are highs and lows; SLship is not for everyone and a lot will depend on how much support you get from your own upliner and ASM. Recruiting techniques vary from area to area depending on what works for the inhabitants so there's no one hard and fast right/wrong rule.
Enjoy being a rep first and see about SLship once you've built your customer base up to make sure you easily hit HOV every campaign. (That's the first thing you need to achieve to be a SL anyway.)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
