    Hi Everyone!

I have been reading for a week or so now and am coming out of Lurkdom, it feels so liberating! :rotfl:

I used to be an Avon Rep a few years ago but had to stop as I was really poorly whilst expecting my little boy. I am Being made redundant in May so figured I would start up again to build a bit of "spare" cash up and give me a little form of income to fall back on come May.

I currently work Full Time so am not doing territory just friends, Family and work colleagues. This is my first campaign order and I have so far got £153 of orders so into the higher commision :T The SL that signed me up this time is a high flyer (executive SL) and has 900 reps :eek: She came and sort of lobbed the books at me, checked I could get into my online account and I havent heard from her since! Have been getting CCd into area emails from someone else, no idea who she is though!!!

Thanks for all the fabulous tips and everyone seems really friendly and helpful :D

Well I have spoken to my parents but they are being awkward and won't have it delivered to their address, whihc leaves me with the problem of how to get my delivery. Do any of you get it delivered to a shed? Could I leave the back gate and shed unlocked then get the driver to put in the shed and put a padlock on after him?

What do you suggest if you are not in for delivery?

That should work okay if you leave the driver a note on your door. During busy months, mine sometimes comes when I'm on my way to preschool (I walk). I leave a note on the door, car doors unlocked and any returns inside the car. Delivery guy (throws) puts them in the car then locks it after him (push button lock) so padlock on a gate should be ok.

Pipsmum: Sounds like you may have been signed by an ASM / higher level SL and put into someone else's team....

You will get all the help you need from here, so don't worry. :) Sign ups like this really annoy me though, as most of us try so hard to support our teams and do things properly, and don't get as far as the people who just 'vanish'....
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Avon have now tightened up their systems so your first order will only be left if there is someone to sign for it. Doesn't matter whether it's your home address, work address or a friend's address. The carrier will need a signature. For subsequent deliveries they may leave it where you ask, provided you leave them a note - again with your signature - that they can take away with them as proof of delivery.

Reading between the lines, I think Avon have been 'stung' by reps claiming not to have received their order so you can't blame them.

Mine gets left in my shed with no problem, he takes any returns away with him and then put the padlock back on for me so I shouldn't worry too much - it easier to them to leave the delivery when they come rather than having to come back another time. I just have my safe location as shed, which is written on the address labels on my delivery so they know they are ok to leave it their.

It could be the emails you are being copied in on is from your area manager, I know a few managers like to send emails to everyone in their area even though they won't have signed many of them themselves, just to let you know anything important. Hope your sl turns out to be more helpful in future - winds me up that the sl that provide no help seem to do the best and yet they shouldn't, it should be sl who do their job & provide support & contact that succeed.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

    Welcome aboard, Pips mum :T

I'm a Northampton Avon lady too - wondering if we have the same SL as I've had the same experience & she fits the description! PM me her name & we can see :rotfl:Don't want to name & shame :o

I'm in Wootton Fields, where abouts are you?

Good luck - that's a great first order from F&F
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Yes, once you're 'established' it's not a problem, but the first order will definitely NOT be left unless there is someone to sign for it. To be on the safe side I tell my team members just to leave a post-it note with their name, a/c no. and signature on their door. As you say, easier for the driver and rep.

Ok, I need to pick your collective brains! I am after ideas for wedding favours.... I am making charms for the glasses for the champagne toast, which guests can then keep. So, I thought of doing favours with sweets in rather than almonds, as I thought more people would like them. Now wondering if I could get away with Avon gifts? Someone mentioned they are doing aftershave samples etc for the men, and I realised I have lots of these, as well as lipsticks etc for the ladies. Thoughts / ideas would be appreciated :D Keeping the budget down, and marketing my products.... Ok or naughty?!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
