To anyone interested, my request for a couple of free gifts from Avon to customers waiting forever for OOS items got the following response -

On checking your account, it appears that these particular products are out of stock. We fully appreciate the disappointment caused when we are unable to supply products which have been ordered. Unfortunately, due to high demand, it will not be possible to supply these products at this time.

Please be assured we will dispatch these products as soon as stocks are available.

Unfortunately, we are unable to send complimentary products. However, if you would like to order alternate products, we will endeavour to deliver them within five to seven working days.

    Thanks Avon. Not.

Now I have another customer who bought a mascara, found it to be empty, I replaced it & the replacement is empty too. I'm now refunding her & giving her a free mascara from my own stock. Thanks Again Avon. Not.

  • They aren't out of stock due to high demand- that's blatant rubbish. If that was the case we would have received them by now- that excuse can wash for one campaign- two at most!

More likey is there is a problem with the supplier what the problem is though is anyone's guess!

Take your complaint to your SL/ASM. Ask them to put forward your customers continued disappointment etc. You may get a better response. They seem to just send templates as email replies. SL/ ASM can speak to British call centre and get more sense. HTH
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I had that problem too, after 2 replacements I just gave her a £5 discount off her next order as she said she wouldn't buy any more mascaras ;) So she bought some pyjamas :D

I've spent the entire day trying to sort my accounts and paperwork out. Now flicking through C2 book to see what bargains I can grab for stock ;)

I had some half empty (half full?) Musk for Men aftershave last delivery. Fortunately it was a regular and she was very good about it but I don't take the items out of the boxes unless they look damaged. Avon need to up their game on these problems as we have to trust them.

BTW, who else was bitterly disappointed with the Believe incentive vouchers? Don't think I can use any of them and also checked my holiday destinations for later this year and load of rubbish available there too. Wasn't worth the effort.

  • Hi all. Just started as a rep today and already looking for advice. I have 40 brochures from my SL. Here is my dilemma. Do I hand out the brochures and take them back in after a few days and hand them out again for another few days to catch more people before order deadline or should I give people longer and focus on next time?

I can manage either way, just wondered what experienced reps might say about how a short deadline may be perceived by potential new customers on my first round.
  • I think I gave my customers a week first time round and I wouldn't do any longer than they need because many forget about them or lose them if they have them too long. I would say 4-5 days is probably what I find best
  • If I give my customers any more than 3 days on this round then the max number of potential customers would be 40. I was just wondering if handing them to 2 lots of 40 potential customers for a shorter time might make them feel pressured so not buy or even not bother looking at book. I want to maximise potential but not annoy customers in doing so right at the start.
  • Look at it this way- you let 40 customers have the book this campaign and then next time you can give the 40 books (or however many you get back) to different customers next campaign. You might not maximise your customer base in the first campaign but you will be reusing the books next campaign. It's possibly easier for a first campaign to not have too much on your hands while you get used to the process.

It's definitely better to do it perfectly the first time round to start building up your core customer base than it is to be rushed and make mistakes making people less likely to buy from you.

I thought it would probably be best to start as I mean to go on keeping everything consistent.
