I now have two items that have been OOS for 3 campaigns & they are standard avon items. I've just sent off a strong email to avon to ask for two complimentary gifts for my 2 customers as the wait is unacceptable. I'm dreading telling one customer....

Let's see if Avon come up with the goods!

Is one of them the signature body spray as I have also been waiting for that for 3 or 4 campaigns (I've lost track now). I really don't like to leave customers in the lurch- luckily this one used to be a rep so is understanding but it could have been a feat time customer for all Avon know.

I find it very frustrating that I am expected to sit and wait for it to arrive with nothing more than the standard oos message on my invoice. let me know if you have any luck with the free gift and I'll give it a shot.

Me too on the Signature body spray! One was part of a set in C18 and the customer trusted me and I didn't expect this delay so I gave her the incomplete set, which she paid for in full, and I let her have the free gift from that brochure as well. In the end, once I realised it wasn't turning up in time for Christmas, I bought a boxed set from last year on eBay. Exactly the same items. The customer returned the incomplete set and I'm waiting for the spray to be delivered so I can return the whole lot. I'd normally hold onto something bought in C18 as stock until delivery for C5, but at a push I think C6 would be okay (I just daren't leave it until the very last minute so I don't get stuck with things). Hopefully the spray will be here before then. Fortunately I've got a UK centre to ring if I have to return the incomplete set.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I am back again looking for some more advice from you experienced people please.

I have one customer who has placed 2 orders over the past few campaigns but each time she places them outside (as requested) far too late. I collect on a certain day and if no book outside i leave a note with second day for collection. If still not left out i give up on the fact that there will be an order or book. I dont want to let her down but dont really want to go back again. Any ideas on how to approach without offending a potential customer?

Next problem is that before xmas i put out the books as usual and then collected - no problems. Today i delivered the new books and 3 people are now asking where their previous orders are? I am confussed as there were no orders in the bags. I definately collected and sorted the books from this road and there were no orders, but again i do not want to let people down. Not sure if some kind person has been around removing forms but in my mind that seems rediculous. Anyone had anything like this happen before? I am thinking i should do a note to this road explaining situation, and maybe get them to email me their orders?

    Any advice appreciated :)

They haven't perhaps folded the order form in half so you didn't see it sticking out of the book? Sounds too simple but I always ensure I remove the order form whether an order is there or not. If I can't find one then I panic:eek:
TBH, I don't think anyone has taken them. They would either have taken the whole brochure or made a delivery quick smart to whip your customer.

Do you always collect on a set day? This can help customers to remember. I collect on mondays and if no brochure out then I leave one of the pink 'you were out' reminders. If I'm not passing again that week then I collect the following monday (my order day is a tuesday). I regularly put my phone number and email addy on my newsletters (although only 1 customer has ever emailed:D).

Other option is when you deliver an order, to ask when the best day to collect is for them or ask if they would like an email/text reminder the day before.

Thank you for you advice. I really do flick through the whole book when sorting them for the recycling. I am sure that they were not in there, but like you i dont think they could have been taken - it just makes no sense. As you say it would e a lot easier and quicker to take the book and form etc. Will see what happens this time.

I normally collect each road on a seperate day so they do/should know when i am coming. I always leave a 'I have called' card from avon with my details on. Perhaps i will mention perhaps she would like to email me in the future to make sure she receives her items.

Again thanks for the advice :)

They do! If you point them in the right direction, they do cough up, but generally carp items I'm afraid :o

Slm6002: ask your customers if they would rather order via email to solve the problem. If they agree, let them know that you will email confirmation when you receive it. HTH

    Recharge rant

I'm being recharged (as usual) for items (2 separate returns) already sent back. Two items were in a package containing other stuff which they have obviously received.

They still claim I havn't returned said items, but 'on this occasion' they will update my account. I then get the standard lecture about how to send in my returns on time. I ALREADY DID!

'Fraid I've sent a snotty note back telling them to investigate the carrier & not falsely accuse me.

Doubt if I'll get those complimentary gifts now. Am sitting on Avon Naughty Step.

I've had this... They claimed not to have received over £100 in returns. When I gave them the barcodes, they still denied receipt. I rang them regarding something else, and asked for the bar code of the last returns parcel they had received from me and it turned out to be the 'missing' one they didn't have :rotfl: I think Avon is like the council sometimes, one hand has absolutely no idea what the other is doing! Our local council sent the road sweeper round right behind the gritter.....
