I do have another question actually... I noticed that some products include freebies. If the customer hasn't put down the free product code, should I just assume they don't want them and keep them for myself, or give them over just in case?

Not sure what's safe to assume if that comes up!

Personally, I would hand them over if it was 'buy x, get y free'. I would hate for a customer to see the page later & realise that they hadn't got it.

If it's an offer which was made up of a few customers (eg buy 3 for £10, or £5 each), then I take the benefit.

If I can back-order something cheaper, then I'll still charge the customer the higher price - not my fault they didn't order it from the other book & most people are aware of how Avon's prices fluctuate.

    Just my opinions... :)

Had to go to bed cos it was late and I was v tired.

Hopefully this customer would accept my apologies and agrees to the mascaras being re-ordered next campain. Is it a shorter campain? It'll be c18 for me so can back order from c17.

Good to know that the 10pm deadline is not rigid!

It's a learning curve - I also realised I could have ordered colour changing clock from gift brochure attached to c16 instead of c17 as it was cheaper there; could have saved the customer some £££ Anyway posting in case others miss it too.
    I
And in c17 there is a free red gift bag if you orser 2 product from a wide range of pages (170-231) in my case 3 customers were eligible but haven't noticed - I suppose cos the info is not on every page. I spotted and ordered

I didn't even see that until after the order was put in . Lol

HKitten: We can advise you on creative ordering. It is worth doing and becomes very quick and easy. Using the link on the front page of this thread, choose C18. When it loads, you will see a search box at the top of the screen, input the product codes from your customer order forms and check the C18 price. If the product is cheaper or part of an offer you may be able to increase your earnings.
Anything you are unsure about, just ask :D I try very hard to support my team, as do the other SL's here, and we all try and help here too.

Agree with Mt2; certainly in the early days you are working to grow your business and it helps if your customers know you are happy to tweek their orders if they miss an offer.

Having said that, if your customer is on your current campaign then chances are they are not going to see the book again. Problem comes if they're on your back campaign and you know a better deal (which you've taken advantage of) is coming up in their next book.....

  • Yes, good points but still think HK is being 'short-measured' unless her upliner comes back and gives her some more free books.

The fact that she's already been given her C1 books before she's even tried to get any C18 orders makes me slightly suspicious that T1 & T2 have been done together. Of course, I could be wrong - really hope so.

    What's t1 & t2 ?

Sorry; it's the procedure/short terminology re. signing up a new rep:

T1 = the meeting when we talk through what is entailed in being an Avon rep and sign someone up i.e. so they have everything they need to go out and get some orders for their first campaign

T2 = the follow-up visit when we make sure they're happy with the ordering process i.e. show them how to input their first order online, maximise the value of that order and give the new rep their books for their second campaign.

I never had my T2 , I had my first meeting and was given my books. And leaflets all in one go. I got 20 of each campaign,

Nice to know I should of had that .
As some of you know I don't have the best SL or asm and I emailed them both twice over the past 3 days and have not had one reply between them all. I even got an email (the first one ever) from my asm reminding me to put my order in before 10pm.

I emailed back straight away with the request of wanting to become a SL and also that I wanted to be allocated some more streets!
    NOTHING FROM EITHER !

Oh dear. Yes, I was told recently that doing T1 + T2 together is becoming more common. Each to their own I guess but in my book that's not really helping a new rep maximise their own business.

If it's any consolation (not!) I have been having the same problems as you but in my case am struggling to to get some of my SLs to come back to me! I know 'life happens' but it's not hard to just acknowledge a communication and let someone know you'll be in touch asap, is it?

If you do go into SLship, MB, hope you do a better job than your own upliners!

Ooh... okay yeah, I did get T1 and T2 together (I didn't know there was supposed to be two meetings). But she was here for about an hour and as far as I can tell, did go through everything - she showed me the online ordering and checked out my streets on google maps with me...

It would have been hard for me to have a second meeting anyway because of my work hours (I work full-time as well as doing Avon now) so it worked out okay for me :)
