As Play.com are flat out refusing to honour the discounted price, or offer any kind of discounted refund, we need to put pressure on them to change their stance.


I'd recommend anyone who has ordered from Play.com to complete the form on the attached link for the BBC Watchdog program.
we may not get anywhere with it, but it's best to put as much pressure as we can on Play.com to honour the discounted price

I ordered from Staples this morning then got the email cancelling it after they'd taken the money from my account. I spoke to them this evening and they've assured me the money will go back in my account at midnight. Presume yours will too.

no they sent me an email saying they were not discounting the HP Touchpad about 3 hours ago.

Got an email tonight from CPW saying that the payment from my card was refused.

I phoned them up and they put it through again and it worked ok. I've now received an email saying its been dispatched!! woohoo!

However, on the CPW order tracker it says it is going to be delivered by CityLink, but on the email it says it is being delivered by Yodel (same reference number). Very strange - hope it comes tomorrow though.

Don't be so ridiculous, contacting Watchdog is just pathetic. What are they going to report, Online store doesn't drop its prices when other stores have. Its not like they advertised them at £89 then charged you £349.99

They are probably Imports so they are unable to get there money back from HP if drop the price.

Me too. Definitely completed the payment and reached the confirmation page before 10am. Haven't had any email/call so far. I did noted down the order number so may give Staples a ring in the afternoon if I still haven't heard back from them in the morning.

I have a reservation code for a 16gb Touchpad for the Argos Fareham Titchfield store (Hampshire) if anyone wants it? It states it's ready for collection between Weds 24th and Fri 26th Aug, although I can't guarantee it's been delivered to the store yet as I didn't provide my mobile number for them to text me on.

I no longer need it as I managed to get one from the Carphone Warehouse.

Code now gone.

Don't hold too rigourously to the before 10am thing- I ordered before 10, but have had an e-mail cancelling my order. That said, I ordered at about 9:50, so you could've ordered before me, and it looks like a good sign if people are getting cancellation e-mails, and you're not
