  • Why £89 if correct.
Should only be about £60, the price they are selling for in the USA and Australia.

Its called Rip Off Britain ....

We never get equal pricing with the states etc though- we always get the raw end of the deal. £89 is pretty good though :)

Usually technology is around the same price in $ and in £. So a $400 device will sell for around £400, even though it's actually £250. The UK does have higher tax than America but not that much - the companies figure that if they can make up that difference, all the better. That's an extra £100 for them.

£89 seems reasonable. I was expecting £110 or something. Let's hope retailers go for it!

Are there any differences in the 16gb and 32gb other than bigger memory?
No, it's just the memory difference. 16gb is plenty, though - unless you want to play lots of films on it.

Can we have a link to pricing on twitter so it can be confirmed it is from someone who might know what is going on please. I mean I could tweet they are selling cheap but all I know is I am praying the one I have reserved at argos goes cheap today!
  • £99 is a fair price. It's not a rip off and you can't just compare it directly to the US. £89 would be great and I'd even go for the 32GB at £115!

Think of it as: a dollar in the US buys the same in a US supermarket as a pound in a UK one.

I wonder how long it will be before 'something' happens

Go to Twitter and search "HP Touchpad", and you'll get lots of results - but a lot of it is American.

If you go to refine results and add "£" to "This exact phrase", and "HP Touchpad" to "Any of these words" - you'll get a few more relevant ones. But it's not finding many.
