My Brother-In-Law is National training manager for HP and he has just found out on Friday that they are no longer doing PCs, laptops or tablets. He has a conference call this morning so will keep you updated.

This is misinformation - they are no longer doing tablets and are considering selling off the PSG (Personal Systems Group) - HP are *not* stopping making PCs or Laptops, to do so would make the PSG worthless and impossible to sell. This was announced on Thursday to the markets in their earnings call and is there in Black and White for anyone who want to check:

  • I've reserved 918 of them, across various Argos, Comet, Currys, and PC World stores across the UK, just in case :D

(just kidding... I was lucky to get ONE reserved within a 50 mile radius of where I live in the middle of nowhere haha)

My OH seems to think that if we've reserved one and they drop in price they'll sell our reserved one!

I am starting to think that aswell, I think they will cancel all reserved items and start again.

Why would they do that? I see no logic behind it

No nor me! He seems to think they'll have such a high demand that reserved ones will get sold and they will then say 'Ooops, must have been a computer error'!
  • From twitter its going to be £89 for the 16GB and £115 for the 32GB :D

I managed to refrain from refreshing the page for a whole 20 mins! Lol- please drop the prices! I need to travel 40 miles for my reserved one and would like to go before I pick up DD from school this afternoon! :)
Please remember to thank fellow MSE'rs

Are there any differences in the 16gb and 32gb other than bigger memory?

    Why £89 if correct.
Should only be about £60, the price they are selling for in the USA and Australia.
