do u think its worth me getting up at midnight tonight anyone?
Doubt it, if the last few days have been anything to go by. There haven't been any sudden stock changes at midnight, not for any of the retailers. The only new stock in the last few days was John Lewis yesterday morning.0 -
The best thing is to hold out and if you get one, great. If you don't then you just have to hang fire for a few weeks because these will come down in price, it is a given.
Currently, they are around the £190 mark as mentioned. People know the true purchase value is £89... Even though it was worth more, the price paid it the actual value.
I would pay £120 for the £89 model and not more. It's not that important to me and if I wanted to buy right now (and had the spare cash) it would be a HTC or Motorola... not the HP. Because it is cheap I can bypass all that and get it (if I can for £89).
Keep an eye out on sites... there a bound to be models coming up for sale at random... there are 64gig models still to be sold... and possibly the 3g models too.
I think you are right. Best to hold on. As a long time e-bayer myself I can already see that the prices will drop. I think end of next week there will be a drop.0 -
a massive shipment arriving in the USA by all accounts ( just been e.mailed this info )
the guy seems to think it will be " buy in store " only
not much help for us here though0 -

I'd wait for the mass buying hysteria to be over (might take longer than a week though) and keep an eye on ebay - there's probably a lot of people who've bought one just because everybody else was and who will get bored with it after a month... I'm bad sheep though so when the firesale started in the US, I did spend a bit of time looking at the specs and limitations of the TP before deciding whether to get one in the UK sale. For people who don't mind tinkering with their devices, there's plenty of good patches and homebrew stuff on precentralNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Regarding the 32Gb Touchpads from Argos' website Saturday Night/Sunday Evening. I went through the order process about 2:30am. It said in stock to begin with, then at the end the order process said it couldn't say either way if it was going to be in stock, I think most people got that message.
I checked with @ArgosHelpers on twitter. They gave me the following message-
"Hi, I’m sorry but on this occasion the order did not go through. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused."
LOTS of people are asking. So much so that they're struggling to respond to people. I haven't yet seen anyone get a positive response, so I'm guessing it was definitely a glitch last night.
Oh well!

I went the eBay route in the end. Got a 16GB one for £180 which seems the going rate. No doubt they'll be cheaper as times goes on, but there's only so much time I can sit around F5ing on internet sites
It's certainly twice as much as the £89 that I would have liked to pay, but also half the price of the RRP so that's fine by me
I'll keep looking around to see if any other stock sporadically appears though0 -

I dunno, the O2 Joggler which created similar (but not as much) frenzy have only just seemed to have dropped to the buying price on ebay and there are still plenty selling for more.
I reckon the tablets will keep their value for quite a while.
Just a shame my reservation wasn't honoured.0 -

I've had my touchpad a couple of days now and I think it's
pretty good but not necessarily as great as the frenzy might imply. I'd be interested to hear what other lucky owners think? Value for money etc? I think that if I'd have paid £400+ then I'd have been a bit disappointed. Perhaps I'm overestimating tablets tho. Grateful to Tesco for refunding the difference tho!0 -

400 quid for ANY tablet ( yes that includes the ipad ) is way over the top
150 - 200 then the TP is a nice buy, of course at 89 its a steal ( you cannot even get them cheapo android 2.1 pads for that )
it needs some work done on it, but loads of guides online for that, turning off the logging is 5 mins work and improves things ALOT
The screen is very good on it and i use it most nights now, just sat on the sofa reading random stuff on the net0 -
does anyone know how to get the free pack of apps for the http or if it is available to uk customers yet please?0
