we are in talks with suppliers right now but some far we got no reply or confirmation about this from them or HP directly if they will honour this rebate.

If this is confirmed, we will contact all backorders and let them know the new price as soon as we will have confirmed information and asked them to RE-confirm the orders before shipping them out.

i understand that if you are picking up a reserved touchpad from Argos you will pay the reduced price.

How about if you have ordered online yesterday at full price? Amazon doesn't take the money from your account until the item is about to be dispatched, do Argos take the money straightway even if the delivery is over a week away?

Do you think they will price match?

Thank you OP. At 61 pages long am surprised to see only 17 people have thanked you.

I wish I'd seen the thread earlier, noticed it on HUKD and managed to get one for home delivery from Argos. Trouble is I had chosen a date very very far away (31st Aug) for delivery to give them maximum time to update their prices before i receive it. Called them up now asking if i could bring it forward but no, have to wait another week. boo hoo. But when I do receive it they'll refund me money to pricematch the new lower amount, £115!

    Thank you so much.

I think you underestimate the potential damage that bad publicity can do to a brand via social media or websites such as this.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that - there's still time for Tesco to show they care about their customers - especially when most other major retailers (including HP themselves) have agreed to reduce their prices and refund the difference to those who purchased at the previous price.

Remember - this is a discontinued product we're talking about here.

Tesco care about their profits. If they haven't had assurances from HP they will be refunded for selling below cost I can totally understand their stand at the moment.

At the end of the day, Tesco can sell their stock at whatever price they want. If they hold out for more money and some idiots are willing to pay it and then open the boxes so they can't get a refund, Tesco are quids in.

Remember - this is a tiny percentage of Tesco's customers.

I hardly think the millions of people who shop at Tesco really care about somebody not getting a cheap Touchpad.

I think Tesco would try and get away with it if they could that is why I think if they get the idea this is actually not worth the potential hassle they will comply. Its not like they are losing anything from it. Staring to think maybe some of their employees want the returns (clutching at straws, I know).

It is just frustrating that I just want only one at the discounted price and couldn't get one on Monday as they were all nearly snatched up when I was commuting home on Monday evening. Thought going the Tesco route would have been my best option.

There are now loads of touchpads up for sale on Gumtree due to greedy people snatch up all the stock so they can try and make a quick buck. If they took 2 seconds to think about it, marking up a discontinued product by 100% makes no sense as everyone only wanted it because of the low low price. I guess in time those prices will come down as well but it is frustrating.

I already had one delivered yesterday and rang up today, spoke to customer service and refund for price difference is on it's way back to my credit card within 7 working days.

Money was reserved on my credit card the same day that I made the order.

Just came back from Comet in Twickenham

I picked up two cases yesterday at full price, today they dropped to £20 each, they refunded the difference with no problems whatsoever.

I have same date. Didn't want to risk earlier date as only wanted it on chance it would be reduced overnight.

Sad that Tesco is the only one not wanting to refund.

The guy in PC world said they were offering refunds to customers as soon as announcement went out on Monday.

    Sigh!
