I have emailed Tesco Direct to ask their position with the HP Price refund policy. Hope the reply will be positive.0

Regarding Amazon HP touchpad
I sent them a email last night to see if there is any chance of them coming back in. I ordered my HP touchpad on around 12.05 am on 23rd August
Sometimes unexpected fluctuations in supply can add time to our original availability estimate. We have learned that "HP TouchPad 9.7 inch Tablet PC (16GB, Glossy Black) - UK Version" is now back-ordered and we will update you once we have received an estimated arrival date from the vendor.
Please note that the availability and dispatch times listed on our website are estimates only, and not guarantees. While we do our best to adhere to these estimates, our inventory is constantly changing based on information we receive directly from our suppliers, and occasionally, unexpected fluctuations in supply can result in us being unable to fulfil an order. While we do not like to see this happen, and our inventory team try to avoid this at all costs, due to the size of our catalogue it is unavoidable that this will happen from time to time.Has anybody successfully received their order from Amazon? That is direct from them and not som sub business under the Amazon umbrella? Just interested to know... as my order still says Not despatched but will notify when they have a delivery date for the item...0 -
Tesco out of of stock anyway even at old price for 16gb and 32GB

The only way is and a big IF is if they get some in then reduce them

Thought People could post their unused and still valid genuine Argos Reservation Number offers or requests as the other two threads are getting clogged up

I meant HP has indicated that the user who paid full price will receive refund in US and many in UK taking the lead. So why not Tesco. I am not asking them to sell the stock they don't have it at reduced rate but to refund the users who paid full price.0 -

I also bought from Tesco Direct on Monday at full price. Touchpad due to be delivered today. Guess it was unfortunate I chose Tesco instead of Argos. I phoned this morning to see if they would be refunding the difference as it has been reported in the media and other retailers were either dropping price or refunding difference.
The customer service lady said they would not as I purchased before they were notified - find that hard to believe. She said I could either refuse delivery or return to the store.
Not looking good at the moment but I guess if anyone who did the same kept at Tesco and highlight the number of returns they would get then they would either have to sell at the reduced price anyway or eventually return to HP, then we might get somewhere. I have emailed their customer services in hope that it may reach someone with more authority.
Doesn't make sense for them not to follow Argos' lead.
I think that's disgraceful and unacceptable behaviour by Tesco. Let's hope they see sense and change their stance on this.
Their customer service dept won't get very good publicity if they don't. Potentially quite damaging for the Tesco brand I think.0 -

I hardly think the millions of people who shop at Tesco really care about somebody not getting a cheap Touchpad.0 -

Would love to say its because I am no longer in debt (annual season ticket and student loan) but its just because I turned into an occasional lurker which, I know, I know, isn't really good for the community.

I think this is bad behaviour on the part of Tesco for sure. As a matter of goodwill one would think they will reduce the price. After all, it is only a matter of them communicating with HP and HP providing them (Tesco) with the difference.
Contacting their PR people will have little effect unless you are a collective... in which case they may listen... but at the end of the day, it is all about money and I imagine they want to get as much as possible on these tablets... very naughty of Tesco.0 -

I think you underestimate the potential damage that bad publicity can do to a brand via social media or websites such as this.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that - there's still time for Tesco to show they care about their customers - especially when most other major retailers (including HP themselves) have agreed to reduce their prices and refund the difference to those who purchased at the previous price.
Remember - this is a discontinued product we're talking about here.0
