but where theres no macerator and i rip up any pads that should be ok?
tampons are tiny little things though?
NONONONO
Put it this way - how would you feel if the sewer outside your house, the big one in the street, got blocked with fat and tampons etc and flooded your house ?
Think about when you wash your hair you get bits of hair in the plug hole ? yes....well think of that as the fibres from towels and tampons getting stuck on the sewer pipe, htese fibres do not break down, it matters not if they are torn up or are small....they ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE FLUSHED DOWN THE BOG :mad:You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Public toilets used to have incinerators years ago to dispose of these things. So these days if it goes in the bin next to the toilet, does that waste go to be incinerated, just curious?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

:T it most certainly does, technically classed as hazardous waste so has to be incineratedYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I must admit I am guilty of putting them down the loo at home, but use the bin when I'm out. Think I will have to put some bags in the bathroom as otherwise there will soon be 2 females doing it “A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

i was always told you could flush tampons (but not pads cause of the sticky bit blocking pipes) and that it wouldnt block pipes ... never thought anything of it til now0

Yes please Puddy, it costs nothing but saves £1000's
Please read the links below.
Sewer flooding cost us all £'s both in increased water rates and insurance.

If I get the readers of this thread to change their toilet / sanitary habits then i'll have saved £1000's of down time on machinery failures and insurance claims for floods. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

The fibres of tampons do go mushy...that is what they are designed to do, its the string you hold onto that causes the real problems. However none of them degrade like toilet tissue. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
