WFI is not as good a lending option a PFI - Parent Finance Inc have much more flexible lending criteria, rates, and repayment options. Although they won't lend once you hit a certain age (well, not my branch anyway). They don't chase their debts too efficiently either...
  • As a director and account manager for PFI, I offer an all hours emergency service to ABS (always broke students) through BOM (Bank Of Mum) online banking and application of flexible plastic through audio communication (particularly to quench the thirst of dry automobile on remote dual carriageway or to retain electronic communication with said ABSs). This service acknowledges that next month never comes so repayments are deferred but will be claimed in kind when each ABS has morphed via yuppie to parent-carer.

There have been some complaints on this board that PFI does not seem to have any fraud prevention practices in place, with the exception of identity checking.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I seem to be running the same service with the same t & c's for twins. :rotfl:

  • Did you read the small print before signing the loan agreement?
    Owing on CC £00.00 :j

It's like shooting nerds in a barrel
  • I'm also a rep of WFI....I'm with the other reps of WFI.....also I think that the withdrawl of personal services should come first in the range of sanctions...they tend to crack quickest when you do that...also there is no way out of it, unless she deems the spending of the ten pounds fall within T&Cs of the agreement.

I would like to point out that representatives of WFI are required to carry out such searches, in order to avoid inadvertent money-laundering.

This made me laugh out loud (and earned me some funny looks from the rest of the office). Thanks guys for cheering up my Friday afternoon!
  • My mum is currently in hospital and it's been very trying and tiring for the past couple of days. I picked this thread up from this week's Martin's weekly email.

Thanks to every single poster who has made me laugh and cry in the past 20 mins whilst reading this thread. Your ingenuity at coming up with new names for common abbreviations (e.g. PPI - was the funniest) is astounding.

Although I can't speak for WFI or HFI, I can speak for PFI and mine have been pretty good. Only the other week, they loaned me £10 to pay for my share of a gift voucher. Loan agreement was that I'd pay up the next time I saw them. When I presented said repayment to PFI, their 1st response was "Oh we thought you'd already paid in full"....don't you wish more banks were like that???

Thank you all again for making me laugh :beer:

In my capacity as MD of BMF (Best Mate Finance), my advice is to investigate this source before all others. However, before entering into any Agreement, verbal or written, we strongly advise that potential borrowers consider the nature of the "Best Mate" association.:rotfl:

Additionally, borrowers should make every attempt to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the BM's financial situation: is the lender in a position to resist requesting early payment?_pale_ Is the BM relationship strong enough to withstand repeated refusals of repayment?

It also inadvisable to make requests for further funds, particularly whilst associating with the BM at any establishment which serves alcohol.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

BMF is a flexible finance option where repayments can be made in various forms with "pint of beer" and "lend you my football season ticket on Saturday" often preferred ahead of cold hard cash!
