Ginen the poor sales in the UK there has to be stock somewhere, it's jst where and will HP authorise the price drop.

Lets just hope due to the poor sales that there is actually an abundance of stock sitting in a UK warehouse somewhere rather than in America or China!

I just hope that they didnt stop shipping large amounts here when the take up was so slow.

If a reduction does happen i can see either Amazon or Tesco Direct being first off the mark with a price reduction - Both constantly try to outdo each other so both will be keen to be 'first' with a price cut.

You'd think so but I noticed that Amazon US haven't dropped the price at all today - I've been keeping an eye on the 32GB - they've now taken their stock off sale, the only ones that are left are from 3rd parties fulfilled by Amazon and still at full price... there's also some at around $300 from other resellers (not fulfilled by Amazon), still way over the sale price of $149 for that model...

Hey, been watchign this thread with interest.

For what it's worth, I check the Amazon page for the Touchpad and see it's dropped a bit to £275...not much of a drop, and only 1 left. Not much of a deal but maybe things will go down further.
Any advice given is done so purely on the basis that it be taken as guidance and not a definitive answer to a question. If you are uncertain or confused, always consult your own legal representative.

By spinning off or selling the PSG - completely different situation to what is happened with WebOS, HP are not about to discontinue their PCs.

Please get your facts right guys - HP announced that they are not making any more DEVICES, NOT that they are dropping webOS (they said dropping devices lets them concentrate on developing it, but for what? Wait and see, or it's dead would be the two opinions I guess).
They also announced that they're considering selling their PC hardware division. Nothing else.
cgk1 - there ARE still developers working on webOS. As I said before, the apps are in the Catalogue, the numbers WILL NOT go down, apps can't just vanish!
While you're all running around looking for a bargain, I'll be trying to somehow turn my £400 Touchpad into a ~£100 one...

Actually they can, the developers retain all the rights to their apps and can pull them at any time - check the HP developer forum if you don't believe, a number of developers have already said that they are off to develop for android/iOs/WP7.

It would be the same as IBM/Lenovo.

IBM simply moved out of that arena. IBM cesed making them and Lonovo took over so for example it ceased being an IBM thinkpad and became a Lenovo Thinkpad.

Either way it's HP stopping making PC's

Actually we did at the time.

HP said they were dropping support for WebOS last week. Today the VP for webos has said they will continue to develop it, although the CEO said they would not.

I notice almost all the UK vendors have pulled the touchpads.
