Just in case anyone is interested still - HP started a fire sale in the US yesterday with the Touchpad reduced to $99, so we might see similar movement in the UK.

Wow thats desperate for a device thats only been on the market a few months...

That is a completely bizarre move by HP.

Dell and others are going to be rubbing their hands together now that the market leader has said it intends to pull out of PCs.

If they do the same here, I'm *definitely* grabbing one at that price especially given that there's already some talk in the dev community of possibly trying to port Android to the Touchpad ;)

Edit: some devs have now confirmed that they are getting organised and *are* working on it...

No idea, I doubt it will actually come down as much in the UK - hell it might not even get a discount here.

With Discounts some people were picking them up for $70 - the Pre2 (no good for the UK) was $49 - so I'm wondering if the pre 3 will get a discount here?

yeah but even maybe £150 for the 32GB model would still make it a bargain - good hardware for that price :p

True... though sureley it would be better for them to flog them cheap rather than not at all?

I rang hp sales and they said that they are no longer for sale through hp at the moment but are expecting them ti be on sale come Monday at reduced price. This was all conjecture though and no prices were mentioned. If I buy one drop pc world, not open it and the price is reduced within 21 days is it easy enough to get the discount?

I've called too :) and was told that they hadn't received any communication about a price drop yet and that *if* anything happens it wouldn't be until early next week.

I guess we can all stop refreshing the Touchpad page on the HP website for now :p

No idea - I don't think I'd risk it. I've noticed that in the US some retailers are still selling them at the full price.
If they do a sale here too, I'd get it directly from HP or from a retailer who has them advertised at the reduced price. Going to have to be quick though, they might go rather quickly.
