Just found you. Can I join too? I'm probably older than most of you - Oooh, let's not beat about the bush, I'm in my 70's and retired (obviously) and managing on a state pension. No time at the moment for my life story but I want to be one of you, pppplease.

Sorry had to see to OH, the problem with being a carer is the constant interruptions. It can be very difficult sometimes trying to get things done, you start something and it has to be abandoned whilst caring duties overshadow everything else.

    This is me,
I went shopping today and I sat in a cafe with a coffee for ages and it was lovely just to drink it without having to do something else. This I my one treat at the moment every fortnight.
Taking it one day at a time

    Hi all
I think thats a great idea Fishcake of maybe picking a project and encouraging each other to get it done, maybe getting advice from ones who know what they are doing to the ones who are clueless (tried to grow veg last year ... everything died...i have no green fingers!...would love to be able to sew and do alterations to things and make curtains, draught excluders but...buttons fall off when I try to sew them on!)
I am the same with the internet especially here, my house would be a sparkly palace (haha not) if I didnt spend so much time on here, my excuse is i am learning stuff.. and im sticking to it
This months challenge to myself is to be greener and recycle more (fitting in with the too much stuff) yesterday I cleaned out the cupboard under the stairs, freecycled some stuff, the meter reading guy laughs when he comes here (same guy for years) I keep telling him to let me know when hes coming round so I dont have to throw everything out the cupboardt into the hall and hold the back of his jacket as he leans in the cupboard to see the meter!
    Oh am loving this thread
ps someone was asking (sorry forgot who) where we all live, im in the NE of Scotland, a fair bit north of Aberdeen
konMarie and fabbing all the way

Wow! I posted yesterday when the thread was doing its strange disappearing act - and look at it now! It's grown to 4 pages while I wasn't looking.

I thought I'd be a bit organised this morning - made a list of jobs that wanted doing & set a timer on my phone to give a bit of incentive to get them done. I can quite easily get distracted & go off on a different tangent, then find the job I started hasn't been done! Still, it was worth it as DH noticed and said how clean & nice everything looked.... (this may be a bit of a clue that this isn't always the case lol!)

Went out for a walk after lunch - I'm in charge of feeding my mum's tortoise while she's on holiday so did that, then picked up some shopping on way home. Then did some serious weightlifting & carried the ironing pile downstairs! I don't like ironing!!!! But some things have to be done (I try & avoid as much as possible, but sometimes people don't take the washing off the line properly.... I don't dare complain because they will suggest I do it all myself) Anyway, I got most of it done before DH & DS came in from work so will tackle the rest another day, hopefully before the pile grows too much.

So, not a very social day today, but as I went out yesterday with my grandma don't feel I'm missing out! And next week should have company all day as our 2 granddaughters are coming to stay (yes, we do have 5 generations in our family)

Busy day tomorrow, 11am its the Jazz Parade through town then in the afternoon im taking the kids school uniform shopping so I think its going to be an expensive day!! Wont have much time for housework (unless I do some in the evening but usually on my weekends off I like to enjoy a glass of wine (or 2 or even the bottle!)

Hope youve all had a productive day
