I can see from every word that is written that your family life is a very fraught existence. I really hope you can find a way through this that does not involve hitting your 9 year old.

Lynz said it best, so I'm out.

Not really, Nasa is quite good at building rockets, Blue Monkey is really struggling with parenting her child. I don't think pats on the back and sympathy are all that helpful, some professional assistance might be but apparently its beyond the pale to even suggest that.

Oh, I am sorry, you are a professional? I didn't realise.

Here was me thinking that you were a childless and self opinionated! My bad!

It wasn't being helpful, it wasn't even constructive criticism, it was goading.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

Actually, it shows that you were not ever smacked as a child....

You do not recognise boundaries even when you fall right over them.

As for suggesting counselling - maybe better provisions for disabled children might be the better option so at least I would then be able to spend time with my daughter and have 1:1 with her in the holidays - instead of calling everyone to be told my son is not welcome there. Whatever option I take the other child is going to feel left out - counselling is not going to solve that.

Have you considered respite relationships, carers who will look after your disabled child in their home.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

There are no boundaries on this site. People open up their lives and others delve right in, you see it all the time.

People are free not to post if they do not wish to hear differing opinions. I truly do hope that Blue Monkey finds a way for her family to be happy, it doesn't sound like the hitting is currently accomplishing that. Ganging up on me probably won't help either.

LOL, you are joking right. Is this something you have read about? Have you ANY experience of trying to get respite care for a disabled child? You might read about it, but it's existance is almost non-existant. They have even withdrawn funding for our support group.

However, they are building a playgroud for diabled children about 30 miles away 'soon'. Which you have to pay to use.

Thank you for confirming my opinion that you don't recognise boundaries. You don't even understand what I'm talking about!

Yes I used to commission respite care all the time for parents.
