I have a cold too. It's been niggling and threatening to appear for weeks and it's appeared properly today, when I have a night out planned. Oh well some wine will help me feel better

You're not out yet my dear! :) Fingers crossed you won't have to try to make a Christmas baby :)

I'm looking forward to trying to make a Christmas baby ;):) it means I have something good to focus on around the festive period instead of what could have been :):o

    xx

Have a good night out ;)

DH is on call so it's just been me & DD2 at home today given my early start I am creamed now :o

Fingers crossed to be honest after all the BDing we have done this cycle I will be very peed if we didn't catch one :o but if I have learnt anything in the TTC business is that when it's right it works when it's not meant to be it won't :o

Have a good evening lady bugs whatever your plans :A

Had a nice Christmassy day today, bought a holly wreath for the front door and wrapped a couple of presents. Plus... Elf is on TV tomorrow (am I really mature enough to be trying for a baby??)

Have a lovely evening all :)

Elf is my favourite Christmas film Mrsj, since my hubby bought it for me I ask every year if it is too soon to start watching it! I won't watch it tomorrow to avoid breaks and 'cus its not my hols yet. Hope it's as lush as ever though!

Been quiet as nearly half way through 2ww (though last month cycle was 26/27 days so I may be close to AF?!) Stomach pains tonight which I had last Sun so that may have been ov day though positive OPK was Friday... hmm, will keep lurking and fingers crossed for all. nicki, i hope your OH is feeling better and you caught the egg and more fingers crossed for QQ.

Most are sounding hopeful which is good, :D I've put a sneaky bet on the Factor of X tonight so hoping that I'll get some winnings for our "baby fund" as we call it!!

    Evening all,

So I was naughty this morning and tested and it was BFN which I was expecting to be honest. Surprisingly I wasn't upset so I am still managing to take this TTC business in my stride. TBH, at the moment we might take a break from TTC - DH might potentially be made redundant in the very near future so we would be incredibly irresponsible to carry on at the moment.

Had a bit of a shock a bit earlier - my BIL's wife-to-be (who I think the world of) has just found out her mum has aggressive lymph node cancer. I don't know her mum all that well but have been crying, mainly because I am worried about my BIL's wife-to-be. It set me off again when it was mentioned that her mum will be bald for their wedding next year. :(

All in all not a great week!

    Hugs all round honey xxxxxxxx

  • Evening ladies, hope everyone is well,
hugs for CD1s-I think I will be joining you tomorrow, temps have taken a dive and I've been a bit crampy today, but no spotting so far, it's mrhappys birthday on Monday and would love to give him a birthday BFP, but I'm not holding my breath for it! :(

Congratulations for taking ttc in your stride-I'm sure it won't be long until you are totally obsessed and just as crazy as the rest of us here-I mean that in a nice way of course! :)

Sorry to hear about your bil's wife to be's mum-my mum was diagnosed with level 3 lymphoma last year, she had 8 chemos, and is now in remission. It's very easy to go through all the worst case scenarios, but mum didn't lose any of her hair during chemo-it thinned a bit, but nothing drastic, and she coped with the chemo really well and continued to get out and about most of the time. I won't fib and say it was easy, it was a horrible horrible thing for her to go through, and it took it's toll physically and emotionally on the whole family. I just wanted to let you know that with lots of love and support families do get through it and come out the other end almost intact. :) The McMillan nurse at mums oncology unit was brilliant support for the whole family. Sending you lots of love and positive thoughts xxx
I apologise if that offends anyone, I'm certainly not meaning to belittle or undermine anyones experiences of cancer, it is a dreadful experience. (it has taken me along time to even use that word without crying, I used to say that mum had to have a bit of chemo because if I said the evil C word I burst into tears)

  • Thanks tinkwings and mrshappy. The intial shock has worn off now but not sure how strong I will be when I see her or her mum. I hope for all their sakes that she responds well to treatment and she gets the all clear. I think my main concern is how SIL2B is coping as we are quite close.

I can understand how upsetting it is seeing folk go through things like this. Remember to take some time both to support her (she'll probably be "staying strong" for her mum) but also to support yourselves - from someone who knows, it is EXHAUSTING supporting people through massive things like this - of course we don't/want to think of ourselves at such times, but if you (royal you) don't look after yourself(s) and take time out to process everything, you'll burn out far quicker and be useless when you're actually needed

That was the desired effect ;):D

 to everyone. I've been losing my voice at various parts of the day, have a mouth ulcer that's doing my head in, and feel generally crappy and broody (with BFNs:(), so I'm keeping schtum for a bit :silenced: especially since my nerve endings are firing off pain signals and it's driving me mental thundercloud.gif

Big ((Hugs)) BZ, take your own advise and look after yourself, you deserve some you time to relax. :)
