Morning all,
Welcome to the newbies - hope you get your BFPs (big fat positives) soon. There are a lot of abbreviations used on this thread, so if you're confused, look at post one - I think there are a few not mentioned (DTD - doing the dance - sex), but just ask if you're not sure. We don't bite!
Hi fannyanna - hope you're well?
Hugs bigzippy - hope the gynae is helpful.
Well I've got my exam invigilator training at 11 and the dishwasher engineer is due this morning too (he came to reprogramme the DW a few weeks ago, and broke the door catch - he fixed it, but it's broken again!), so I'd better go and get dressed. Need to put on my 2 different cellulite creams first (product test for boots - have to use one on each leg), and then put on my face cream and check Moon has put on his. (I love being a member of the bootsvolunteers - I'm hoping we get some nice luxury bubble bath or similar soon.)
Hugs for all who need or want them!

Morning all. Managed to BD this morning but it took 45 minutes and I was almost late for work. Things we do to try to catch the eggy.
Hope everyone is ok and having a calm and relaxing Friday.
:T:T well done! Work can wait if there's a egg about to pop out I say. If they get annoyed about me being a few minutes late they'll be in for a shock when I go on maternity leave :rotfl:.0 -
Does anyone know how long sperm lives for after it has left the male body?
Way way tmi here, but we dtd around 6 am this morning, and I put my mooncup in afterwards. I've just put a spot of what was collected under a microscope and I can't see any live wrigglersI am on CD8 and high on CBFM but only have creamy CM so not optimum conditions for them, but I still hoped to see some sign of life after only 3 and a half hours, when it had been kept a body temperature. I know from previous investigations that we have morphology and motility issues but the count has never been zero, just well below average. I'm just hoping at the moment that it was tested too late, but any info on this would be great. I couldn't find much using mr google.
Wow! I never ever would have thought about doing that. Not that I have a microscope but would be quite interested to see what's going on. From my understanding it only takes minutes for the best sperm to get up through the cervix, that's why some say it's a waste of time to lie down with your legs in the air for half an hour afterwards, (I do it anyway though). I would have thought by now the good swimmers were well on their way and what's left are the ones that were never going to make it anyway.

Oh. I deleted the post because I worried it was in fact tmi and a sign I am getting really obsessive! Thanks for the reply though!
I found this

after I posted which suggests that the maximum life span in non fertile mucus is 1-2 hours so not feeling quite so despondent now anyway. Wish I would hurry up and get to OV time and at least then I would know that we have done all we can.0 -
Hello,
I hope everyone is well today and you have lovely weekends planned.
I'm very very sad to say this but I'm going to have to take a step back from ttc. I got some results back and I'm going to have another operation and maybe some more treatment after that. I'm totally gutted because I want a baby more than anything but at the moment I need to focus on fighting this and getting all better. I know I don't post here very often but I read everyday and I'm really going to miss you ladies.
Thank you for all your help and advice in the last few months.
Wishing you all the very best for the future and a healthy and happy pregnancy for each of you. QQ please can you remove me from the list0 -

I'm no expert but I think that "strong" swimmers tend to find their way up to their destination fairly swiftly and what comes back is mostly fluid and the "weaker" swimmers.
I've also just read here that how long they survive depends on the surface they are on and so your mooncup may not be a good surface for the swimmers (as it won't just be body temp that affects hw long they live) and could have caused them to die quicker, where as inside you the conditions are more favourable.
