Trying for a Baby Part 7

Hi guys, Ive been lurking for the last month, was just wondering if i can join your thread.
Im 34yrs, and we have just started ttc #1
Ive been off pill for last 18mth (due to high bp) and have been charting my cycle for last 9mth. Cant say im very regular, anything from 24-36 days..the last year has been very stressful so that might contribute for the irregular pattern, although things have settled down in last few mths.
Ive been drinking grapefruit juice prior to ov in Oct and also tried with OPk's..didnt have much luck...had ewcm and could roughly calculate my ov... but my opks came back neg on all days apart from one when line was very faint:(
We BD around ov time but appear its not been successful despite my having sore b**bies for last 10days!. Id hoped i was super-fertile and caught on first month of trying as i never had sore b**bs for that long, its normally 4-5days. Anyway after neg HPT yesterday Ive started spotting today so it looks like AF on its way.
Ive bought a CBFM so that will be my new toy for month 2! Ive also got a BBT...Im gonna attempt that although with me working shifts Im trying to work out a good time of day to start taking temps..I understand you have to have 3hrs of sleep prior to waking and then take it?? Not sure what i'll do when ive been on nights
If anyone has any advice on temping whilst on shifts I'd be grateful...might be better relying on CBFM!0 -

Hi Ladies,
May I join in? I have just started my 1st "real" AF since coming off the pill. Its been a long time coming - 7 weeks today since the withdrawal bleed . I think a big part of the problem was I was very stressed out about work, but after a long chat with my manager yesterday I feel much better and so AF is here! Once she has been and gone we can officially start TTC - I can't wait! We are starting off down the route of NTNP as we have plenty of time (25 and newly-ish married) so no need to try to speed things up.

Do you think you can ovulate the day after having the implant out? The doctor said it was possible to fall pregnant straight away cos i told her we had bd'd yesterday morning so I'm wondering if I have cos I had a pain on the left side where i still have an ovary and i have a lot of cm, although i don't know how you tell the different types but it felt almost like i was leaking so i went and bought some panty liners when i was on my lunch break at work (I also got told off for doing so as apparently I'm not allowed to do any shopping in my lunch break including buying sanitary products) maybe im just symptom spotting but for af rather than bfp lol i dunno xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

thanks for your help claire, you're all so lovely on here. I've also read some of those sites and wasn't expecting AF til Christmas but also don't think my body would be ready to ovulate yet, intriguing... the site i put above I stumbled on and is SO graphic that I thought, how can I have a baby coming out of there?!! but also really informative - only read if not squeamish or just brave id say. I didnt want to do the whole temping/stick thing as thought that would make me paranoid... and yet here I am daily, if not twice daily reading a message board dedicated to TTC whilst/instead of doing work... oops!!
thanks for the link! Its funny to see it like that.
I was worried after reading posts on the net about women not having AF for like 6 months after coming off the pill, so I was very relieved that mine did not take that long! And since then theyve got shorter each month and I think have settled down now to a more regular and 'normal' cycle.
I think I started doing the opks on the 3rd month off the pill - mainly because I had no idea when I would be ovulating and couldnt bear guessing and possibly missing the right BD time!
So I did that, and then I think after 1 month, possibly 2 cant remember now, I read somewhere that you can get a positive opk, but its not 100% certain that you ovulated, the only way to tell is temping. So then I started temping lol!
So actually doing both has made me way less paranoid. Like you say - you end up wondering about it anyway!0 -

Who told you off??
There is a link on the first page of this thread with all the different types of CM. Including piccies I think.0 -
A member of HR, tbh she's my OH's ex and it's quite apparent she doesn't like me and I don't normally let it bother me but to be called over the tannoy system to see a manager to be told I can't do shopping whilst on my break really peed me off, especially considering what I was buying. She's just a trout. lol.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
