Hi all. Hope everyone is ok.
Well CD 28 for me and I am starting with AF symptoms. Swollen stomach and sore b00bs.
Should I go to the doctors after trying for a year or should I leave it longer? I have been told it can take 18 months to get pregnant and should leave it until then. Thought it would have happened by now and I am worrying that there is something wrong.
I ovulate around the same time each month at roughly cd18 and have a cycle of 32 days. OH is worried that it is him.
I know that everyone on here is in a similar position of waiting and wondering.

Depends on your age and what 'trying' means. If you've spent most of the year NTNP rather than actively trying for a baby and you're under 35 then perhaps leave it for a few more months.

If, however, you've been temping and/or paying particular attention to your cycle or any other way to boost your fertility, e.g. supplements/checking for EWCM etc and you're not as young as you once were, then a trip to the quack's won't hurt.

  • Afternoon all. I'm just popping in for a rant because there's nowhere else I can do this without sounding like a spolit brat.

My best friend (who had a beautiful baby girl last month) is the only person outside of my immediate family who knows we're trying. This afternoon she has sent me a scan picture from her SISTER who I've not seen for four years. She then proceeded to tell me that her sister started trying in May, and found out in June. She reminded me that it only took her three months to fall pregnant so maybe I should look into what DH & I can do to 'help things along'.

Why would you send your best friend your sister's scan picture !!!!!!?

Feeling very frustrated today, fed up and weepy. I seem to be stressing over nothing and just generally on edge

Damn you AF... for taking control lolx

Sounds like my day too :o:o:o bfn this morning :( knew it would be so now just waiting for the witch and the start of my last cycle on the trial.

What days do you have the bloods done for testing if you OV????

Usually 7dpo (CD21 based on a 'normal' 28 day cycle). That's the one to test for progesterone levels :)

I know they can do ones at CD3 as well but I think that's to check for something else?

    Massive hugs COMP xx

Flutternutter we have been actively trying for a year. I was temping but stopped because it was controlling my life and I gradually learnt when I ovulated and how long my cycles are. I think I will make a trip to the doctors and see what they say.

COMP, do you wanna swap DHs?:D
As for your friend, I have no idea. Obviously she doesn't know how it feels to ttc more than 3 months:(
Birdie, glad everything is fine so far. Time for that internal scan?
Good luck with your OH's SA, DH took 2hrs to produce a sample once:p
Good vibes, good luck hinting to your DH about ov, my ov is fast approaching too:o
Flee, you can go to the doctors after 12 months ttc, after 6 months for over 35s.
It could be as simple as getting your tubes flushed:o
teacupandcupcakes, (((hugs))):o You'll be even more hormonal once you are pg:p
Tinkwings, lilymay is right, it's done at 7DPO. The CD3 test is to check all your hormones.

I had a scan on my ovaries and they are clear QQ. But I have started having spotting when I ovulate from my left side, so could be either my hormones or that tube.

No I absolutely wouldn't! for you.

About a year into us trying, a friend who had just started trying sent me an email saying:

"How do you keep your spirits up/stay determined? Did you think it would take this long?"

I could have flipping punched her. Even now, it makes me angry. How insensitive can some people be? Perhaps others wont think it is, but considering how I was feeling at the time, it hurt me a LOT.

    That's just ov spotting:cool:

Are you worried about low progesterone? endometriosis? fibroid?
All these can be easily cured:)

Whatever it is, you are still young, so prognosis is very good:)
If worst comes to worst and you end up with IVF, you'll have a bigger chance of success than, say me:D

I've been here a long time and have seen many people ttc for 12months, and just as they got the appt for IVF, boom they are pg:cool: I bet you'll be one of them:)
