Hi all, thought I would drop in while working through a quiet Friday.

Good luck Marie on the test, and of course QQ on the big test on Monday. Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you. Hopefully my very mean prediction of 7 BFP's this month is far too low!

I have been thinking the last few days, and am coming to terms with the fact that there probably is something 'wrong' with me getting pregnant. By which I mean either me or OH, but it seems it just isn't happening. We have been NTNP (mostly) for 2 years now, but to be honest I don't think we often got the right days, and properly trying for about 6-8 cycles now with no result.

So, I am trying to prepare for a next step, which most importantly means losing weight. I know that weight itself is a problem, so losing it could be enough, but also I need to lose weight to be able to get help from the doctors. So either way, it's time to stop hoping things will sort themselves out and try to take control.

Latest strategy is the 'do I want this more than a baby?' diet! So everything I eat, I ask myself if I need/want it more than a baby. So far (4 days in) it is working, and haven't had any sweets/snacks that I normally can't resist. I need to lose 8-10kg, and was 4kg lighter only 3 months ago, so I know I can do it if I put my mind to it.

Not giving up on the normal options, and I am going to ask OH to get a SA soon, but I hate trying to lose weight, and have been sort of avoiding it. I also bought some conceive plus this month (like everyone it seems!) so still hope, but I need a new approach, if only to try and feel like I can have a little control.

    Hey people!
Well OH and I decied we couldn't wait so I stopped taking the pill 3 days ago :D I hope it doesn't take long for it to come out of my system, have only been on the pill since September 2011, never since a teen before that.
Obviously as I have been on it I will need to have a period before I would get pregnant but we are so excited about trying we decided we couldn't wait!
Does anyone know if the first bleed after takin the mini pill is a 'fake' period, as in you don't ovulate beforehand?
Been taking the folic acid and as of Monday we are both going on a healthy eating plan.

One thing have notied is the lack of EWCM, I remember back to a few years ago had loads. Know I need to cut down coffee and a few years ago I never drank coffee at all.
One needs fluid to make ewcm, caffeine dries you up:o
On other fronts, having teething probs at work which are not my issue.
Don't let that get to you too much (((hugs))).

People of all shapes and sized get pg all the time, but it's always good to be at healthy weight:)
    Good luck:T

I read something last year that said in something like 98% of infertility cases, where weight was an issue/factor, medical intervention was no more successful than losing weight was.

Now on the one hand that's incredibly daunting (and somewhat depressing if you're already beating yourself up about your weight/size), but on the other hand, it's incredibly empowering! :j

I can virtually do no exercise (and I promise I do still eat!) at all - due to health conditions - and I've lost almost 4st now. If I can do it, you can too :D Good luck :D

Good luck with your bfp maire - I'm watching this space! :D

    hi all :)

    Thank you QQ,
Compared to how much stress and how I felt a year ago, things are so much better. Part of changing my job was to settled down with OH and start a family. I felt mentally in last job I would have never been ready and my own life would have been lost.
Yeah I have let it get to me more than I wanted it too. Been weepy since and not even PMT, LOL.
OH has been an angel about it and pumping me up. I have learnt to appreciate what is around me and focus on the good things in the last fews years (laws of attraction).
Good luck Time2deal, You can do it :D
MrsC2b hope you not on here for long :D

I think I have seen that stat too - and I think it is empowering rather than scary. time to focus! And I don't have TOO much to lose, just have to stay focussed.

If I do get this new job, then I suppose I should hold off for the 3 months or so it will take to move across, and will use that time for weight loss. Hope things are going ok with you BZ. I do drop into the +12m thread and see your updates, but not quite willing just yet to move over there. Although it feels like I 'know' more people on the +12m thread... which is a sign in itself I guess!

claire & codemonkey, I don't put the strings on my ear, as my ears are sensitive:p And sometimes the mask did fall off, but I think it worked for me, so will try again if this cycle fails:)

Remember, you can just put things on the window to block out the outside light instead of the mask:cool:

We have a street lamp very near our house so unless I duck taped the blackout curtains I have to the walls unfortunately it still comes in :rotfl:I can see my hand about 20 secs after the light going off.

It goes above my ears, but seems to slide down very slightly during the night, and then hurts when I wake up - that is if it hasnt fallen off!

Last cycle doing lunaception I slept fine with my eye mask on, better than fine actually :) It only fell off a couple of times but I noticed in the middle of the night and popped it back on. This cycle it has fallen off every night, I keep waking in a panic because it ends up around my neck and I think I'm being strangled! Not good! :o
    !

Scary! Mine goes the other way off the top of my head. Although past couple of nights its stayed in place nicely.

Oh and we were at OH's Nana's funeral yesterday, he's got a big family who were all asking us when we're going to provide them with a new baby to play with. One of his cousins asked me how old I am and when I said 27 she went, 'Oooh tick tock, best get on it!' Another one said to me (when I'd mentioned that I was full) 'It's about time that belly was filled with something else, don't you think Dear?!'

How the heck are we supposed to politely deal with things like that?!

How rude!! Im 28 and most of my friends are around 27-29 and not even thinking of babies yet or just starting out!

Birdie- ignore them, I know it's easier said than done. I sometimes feel that tick tock of the clock and I'm 27 too, well I am for another 2 days.

No plans for Father's Day here, my dad doesn't like celebrating things like that. He's only celebrated it once and that's because I was born on father's day. Plus I admit I may be being a bit selfish as my birthday falls on it again this year. Feeling a bit sad about it, as me and my mates were meant to be going out for the day, but as it's father's day and most of them have babies, obviously they are spending it with their baby's daddys. So we are meant to be having a bbq instead, except hubby has forgotten to go and get some gas, so that won't be happening either. Maybe afternoon tea will have to do.

Still can't budge this cold (although don't think it's just a cold, think there's a lovely slight chest infection in there too). Don't manage my way of losing weight, I've just managed to lose over a stone in a week through being ill.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.
