Can't believe all the HSG appts have gone:shocked:
Can't you track your ov and calculate your CD1 from there and phone before your CD1?
    Good vibes, welcome:wave:
I get my OPKs from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ovulation-Fertility-Test-Strips-Pack/dp/B001G7STT0
    Littlezee, Huge (((hugs))).
I'm not particularly religious or anything, but I'm sure your MIL will find out when you get pg from up there.

    Wow, loads going on here.

    Huge hugs to BZ.

Primmer - sounds like a nightmare getting an appointment. That sounds ridiculous.

I feel like my jaw has been hit with a brick repeatedly this morning. Painful! Still low on CBFM - OV should be due any day but I wonder if the anaesthetic and pain will have affected it this month?

New to all this ttc, start from next month when my copper coil comes out. Where to buy and which are the best ovualation kits
    Thank you

Can I ask a few questions? How old are you? Have you fallen pregnant before? If so, was it easy or did it take a while? Do you have fairly regular cycles (might be difficult to tell if you've been using the coil).

The reason I ask is because if you're young (say, up to 30 - 35) and you have the advantage of fairly regular cycles, why not just aim for sex every other day during the mid-part of your cycle (day 10 - 20 ish if your cycle is 28 days) and see how it goes?

As many of us can testify, temping, checking mucus and predicting ovulation can be fantastically helpful but it also can be a bit of a passion killer! Until you start trying you don't know how easy or difficult you'll find things, all you actually need to do is have sex at the right time of the month (providing you don't have fertility problems) so why not just try this for a few months?

Depending on age and whether you've got problems I don't know about, I'd try that for six months and see what happens.

CD2 here and I'd genuinely forgotten what a 'real' AF is like. I've been on hormonal contraception since 2000 so this is a real shock to the system. Off to sainsbury's in a mo as I don't have sufficient supplies at my desk*. Eek! Otherwise, nothing to report. Had a nice chat with DH last night whilst he was taking care of me (I scalded myself with hot tea) and we've agreed to take it easy for the first few months and try not to stress too much if it takes a little time. I know this might be easier said than done though.....

*I'm not just really thick, just didn't expect to have had to change so regularly and so soon...
Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP

Well, my coil is now OUT! No idea where I am in my cycle as haven't had AF for months (and not overly looking forward to her return, but I suppose she is a necessary evil).

I'm tempted to try OPKs just to see whether I can catch ov this time without waiting for AF to work out where I am in my cycle. Though I doubt DH would complain if I told him we need to BD every other day, starting now ;)

(Not ignoring your advice to good vibes, fluffnutter, as I'm in a very similar position. But I'm no spring chicken unfortunately, so don't really have the luxury of just seeing how it goes for a few months :o)

((hugs)) mrshappy, what a horrible decision to have to make. I hope you and your DH are OK.

And ((hugs)) to BZ too. I hope you can make your MILs remaining time as pleasant as possible.

Primmer, that is rubbish about the appointments. As QQ suggested, can you not book in advance? (assuming you have a regular cycle and know when next AF will be due)

I don't think anaesthetic or pain will affect ov, but stress most definitely will delay or skip ov:o

    Good choice:T

Some people get pg before their first AF

Like fluffnutter said, one doesn't need OPKs if one can BD every other day:cool:
I need it because my cycles are irregular and DH is an once a week man:o

I'm assuming you've had a tooth removed recently, or a nasty filling. Either way, the last time I had work done on my one of my teeth, it was quite horrid. There was anasthetic and pain involved, and it was around the time I was due to OV (I already had EWCM). But, after the dentist visit, the EWCM disappeared, and OV was delayed by about 3 or 4 days, so it wouldn't surprise me if your body reacted in a similar way.

BigZ - I'm so sorry to hear your news. HUGE ((HUGS)) to you and your DH. Try to keep/do some small things that make you happy, so you have something positive to focus on. And as another poster said, your MIL will hear your news from up above. In fact, she may even find out before you two do.xxxxxx

Unfortunately for my hsg test you can only call on cd1 and they will only book you for the test Tuesday (if there are appointments available) so you can't book in advance which is so frustrating. They will only do it up to cd10 to ensure you are not of even though you still have to do a pg test on the day if the hsg and so it does mean your chances of getting an appointment are remote. I can't believe that they only do the tests on tues mornings and think this is why it is such a struggle to get an appointment. Whilst I was on the phone to them yesterday I could hear 2 other receptionists tell others that they also had to call back next cycle and that was at 9am when the clinic opened. The lady I spoke to said once you have called on 3 different cycles without success they will ask a doctor to see if they can add you on to an appointment list but there are no guarantees. I find it hugely frustrating and DH said last night that the hospital don't care that they are messing with people's life's by keeping them holding on.
