Hi Lily-May, welcome to the thread. Hope you will find this a helpful and supportive place - I know I do!

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter and also about your father's illness. Hope that you will have a new addition to your family very soon.

In terms of working out when you are ovulating, there are lots of things you can do.. some people find it useful to use OPKs (ovulation predictor kits). These are urine tests which indicate when you are about to ovulate (usually within 12-36 hours of getting a positive test). You can buy them on Amazon really cheaply (I get the ones from 'home health' on Amazon). I know others use the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor but it is quite expensive and I haven't tried it so can't recommend either way. I also take my temperature every morning (it goes up after ovulation) so it lets me know each cycle when I've ovulated - although no good for knowing when to seduce your other half as it might be too late by then! You can also check your cervical mucus (trust me, we love chatting about that on here...........) as it changes during your fertile time.

Umm.. I am at risk of yabbering on a bit. There are lots of things you can do, but it's about what is right for you and your DH! I really like the website https://www.fertilityfriend.com and I especially love this thread for lots of advice and support from all the lovely ladies!

I know the general advice from the NHS is to try and relax and have regular sex (every 2-3 days) throughout your cycle, so might be worth giving that a go before trying anything else!

Please feel free to come on here any time, ask all the questions you have, rant away if things are getting difficult. I find it a massive help as I don't like to talk to DH too much about it all as it gets a bit clinical and pressure-y for him, and also very few other people know we are trying. Plus, how many people could I genuinely talk to about my cervical mucus...? :rotfl:

Ok, I think that's plenty from me. Loads more (and better!) advice to come from others I'm sure.

Hugs 2b. I don't know what to say but have a massive hug xxx

    And hugs for Tink, too.

AFM, I am 2dpo (QQ can you change that on the list please?) DTD on Ov day, didn't last night so did it this morning and will do it again tonight. Has very stretchy EWCM on day 0 (literally stretched from me to the water in the toilet!) and it was that weird snotty CM yesterday (sorry for TMI) but nothing much today.

Of course, I really didn;t want a December baby so this could well be my month! :rotfl: Although frankly I'll take any baby any time now. Just want a live one next time I get PG.

Massive hugs tinks :( Wanna be cycle buddies this time?

Welcome emylou, hope your stay here will be short and sweet. I came off the pill at the end of October, had two 'normal' cycles of 30 and 31 days and then had a 48 day cycle  and the most recent one was 36 days. I think it can take a while for your body to adjust and sometimes ovulation can be delayed by stress or illness which in turn means AF arrives later. Do you know when you ovulated? I have started taking my temperature this month which is really helpful as I can pinpoint when I ovulated. If that all sounds like gibberish have a look on www.fertilityfriend.com which is a really useful site for temping/charting - lots of us on here use it.

Just had a totally stereotypical menstrual woman experience... went to to the shops as I need some new work shoes. Love the M & S cheapy £15 black patent court shoes so went to out of town shopping place. None in my size. Cue stress levels rising. Head to the till to pay for the pair of tights and pack of Easter cards I've picked up along the way, only to be forced to walk through all the baby clothes. Miserable I'm-not-pregnant feeling added to rising stress levels..

So, in order to combat the tears which seemed to be on their way I popped into Boots and came out with a bag full of new Clinique make up :D Not very :money: at all but at least it's Bonus Time..

Did I mention the Galaxy bar I also bought in Boots and pretty much inhaled I ate it so quickly in the car on the way home?

So, now feeling a bit better, back home with a big glass of red wine, DH cooking a curry and 'The Voice' on the telly. And relax! Tomorrow is a new day and I will try to be full of PMA for this next cycle :)

M&S must be a bad place - I went there today, felt good as we went there purely to go to the bureau de change as we're going away for the bank hol, and on the way out I saw such a cute baby, normally I love that, but today it just made me feel really depressed. We got in the car and I said to DH 'That baby really pi**ed me off' :rotfl: I then inhaled a Toffee Crisp and felt a bit better!

    Hi MrsJ

Thankyou for your reply. Lots of things to look at there so I will have a scootch on Amazon when small fry finally goes to sleep!

My husband is the same - not really into the details. He would much rather just be told when to 'get a shake on' and let me do the rest - as always...! Since early Jan we have been going at it every day between my periods although obviously it hasn't done anything yet. The advice doesn't seem to be clear about how often we should be doing the deed - can you advise? Is every day likely to be helping or hindering?

I am sure I read somewhere that a healthy couple only have a 25% chance of conceiving on a cycle - why is it so low? I'm really concerned that my c-section has done some internal damage. I've had several ultrasounds to check the area and all have come back clear, but I suppose I'm just asking myself why it's taking longer this time than it did with the previous two pregnancies. My husband and I had only been together a few months when I fell pregnant with our daughter and I was about 8 weeks pregnant with our son this time last year.

I will keep my fingers crossed for everyone else TTC :)

Huge hugs. Is this a tonight only thing or something more long term? If you are really struggling, maybe speak to your GP and get some short term help to make you feel better? I know there are some anti depressants for example which are safe to take when ttc and in pregnancy, and there is no shame in using them if you need them. Your existing child, and your new baby when he/she comes, deserve to have a happy and well mummy, so by looking after yourself you are also doing right by them.

Your DW will be hurting too, and I am sure she wants to support you. If you can, tell her what you need from her at the moment.

    xxx

    Hey,

I am new here but it's not nice to see someone struggling so a big cyber-hug from me. I can identify with a lot of the issues you just mentioned and as someone else has said, there is no shame in speaking to your GP to try and get some short term (or long term) help in the form of medication. I was taking anti-D's whilst TTC and then during my pregnancy with my son and they were a god-send.

    I hope you're okay :(

thank you.. . its just a recent thing. literally the last two to these days and all ttc related. since my period arrived really.

I'm like a crazy wounded infertile woman . I am lashing out because I'm not pregnant in between crying about it.

I'm not normally THIS hormonal, its so strange.
