For anyone not truly aware of these things (like my OH who wouldnt have a clue) it could cause great worry !
And Yes, I know its only a soap but I think if they are going to cover these story lines then they should be factual and educate where they can. (anyone notice how susan was on deaths door with MS not too long ago and now its never mentioned )
anyway, rant over back to lurking
Im wondering if they are going to go in that direction too - so will be interesting to see if they do, what good old Dr Karl will say about the 3 months - as they will no doubt see him!
I think they did mention something about Susan and her MS the other day actually, just cant remember what on earth it was now. But yeah its not brought up in the way it was before. (I guess thats soaps for you! Im still wondering what happened to Connor who disappeared about 8 years ago!)0 -

36.95C is 95.8F. Is FF giving those conversions?? If so they're not right!

Hello all
I haven't been able to read this thread for a few days and have a lot to catch up on - about 30 pages
I tested on Monday evening (CD39) and it was negative, now on CD 43 and still no sign of AF.
Once I've caught up I'll be back:):)

Hello
I feel like I'm interrupting, apologies, but I'm a bit of a lurker on this thread - not ttc myself yet but doing some research for when the time's right.
I was wondering what supplements everyone on this thread is taking?
I want to come off the pill asap (been 10 years and I'm getting fed up of feeding my body hormones! Also would quite like a baby eventually!) and I've read that when you come off you should take conception supplements (esp folic acid) straight away just in case, even if you're not actively ttc (if your NTNP, is that right? I get very confused with all the acronyms still! Be gentle i'm a noob!!)
Anyway, there are lots of 'pregnacare' and Boots brand pre-conception supplements about, etc, as well as just plain old folic acid, and I was wondering which ones are best.
I hope this is the right place to ask, figure you ladies know all there is to know about ttc!!
Thanks in advance and good luck to all!!

I'm so shocked we have so many neighbours fans.
My great aunt watches it - and I reckon she is in her 70s!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Hi bettyB
I came off the pill last year and have been taking folic acid daily. There are lots of other supplements you can take including the pre-conception tablets from e.g. Boots, but folic acid is the only one that the GP suggested I take at this stage. As far as I understand lots of other vitamins/supplements are beneficial, but the folic acid is really important as it helps to prevent neural tube defects. This NHS page is quite useful and contains some info. about folic acid:
http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/pregnancycareplanner/pages/Vitaminsmineralsdiets.aspx
I'm sure lots of the other ladies on here will be able to give advice about other vitamins/supplements.
ETA: Also, I just buy very cheap folic acid from Asda, it was £1 something for 180 tablets. Much cheaper than pregnacare0 -
Thanks for the link Mrsj28
Do you take anything for vitD?

I don't take vitD - my GP said I wouldn't need to worry about that unless I'm actually pregnant. The vitD recommendation is really new actually, just came in about a month ago I think.
If you have a nice friendly GP it might be worth popping along for a general chat about coming off the pill, doesn't hurt to be in really good health for when you are ready to try for a baby! Feel free to ask questions about anything on this thread - and definitely join us when you are ttc! There is also a 'waiting to ttc' thread on here which might be helpful.0 -
I was 5 when I started watching and am now 30 so we are both die hard fans ...!! I am seriously jealous of the photo with Karl. Maybe I will focus all my rage and envy onto this now so that I can not get too stressed about ttc... :rotfl:
Mishka - I know what you mean about soaps not being realistic, and I think they will go for an assisted fertility storyline too. I have to say I take everything in soaps (especially one as 'special' as Neighbours..) with a large pinch of salt, but in some ways I agree it would better if they were more educational and realistic.
That said, is there anything realistic about Neighbours??? Nobody has any friends outside of their own street :rotfl: (right, I will shut up about Neighbours now before I take over this thread... totters off to find some sort of Neighbours support group/fan club thread...)
You certainly wont want to know then I also went to Ramsey st, the set of Lassiters and saw 'the lake'! And met some of the other actors too? lol Theres your rage fixed for the week :rotfl:
I will try to be quiet now too p.s there is a website called Perfect Blend something or other I think :rotfl:0 -
BetyyB I came off the pill last year and take folic acid. Im terrible with swallowing tablets so cant handle the bigger prenatal stuff right now.0
