I’m good thank you. After 4 months my bleeding has stopped too. I know what you mean about not wanting to jinx yourself. I initially didn’t want to say it out loud but it’s been 2 weeks now so I think it’s safe to say that it’s over for now.

It stopped just at the right time too. I’d just resigned myself to the fact that I would need to go on the contraceptive pill again. I had the prescription and everything but it stopped just in time.

Oh phew! th_phew.gif I was having the same thoughts about going on something (and it's been nowhere near as long for me!) if the GP suggested it. I was just getting more and more down with it constantly. It's actually strange for the water in the toilet to no longer be bright red every time I go to flush!! :o Very happy that yours has stopped too! :j How's hubby?

what are peoples thoughts on pregnancy tests you can take 4 days before AF is expected? I saw a cheapish one in Asda and I'm sooo tempted to go and get it now. Are they worth it? I'm planning on getting regular ones from the £shop otherwise.

AF was weird last month, I had a little trickle around 28 days then nothing then my usual heavy painful period started on day 33. My period before that was 28 days after stopping the pill. So basically, I don't know how long my cycle should be and I'm desperate to take a test. Would it be silly to take one every day for the next week to be sure?

Also, what happened last month, does that sound like a chemical pregnancy? We weren't meant to start trying last month but we did have unprotected sex once in the middle of my cycle. I really thought I could be pregnant but I took tests and got BFNs.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just very new to this and easily confused!

I've never been pg so I can't vouch for any personally, but the general consensus seems to be that the cheaper the better, on the whole. Something about them picking up on less pg hormone than the more expensive ones? How often you want to test all depends on how gutted you'll be if you see BFNs time after time. I really wouldn't convince yourself of a chemical pg either, especially as you got BFNs, it's no good for your mental health :o I would essentially try to just assume that everything is normal unless it becomes worrying

:j all my clearblue trial stuff has arrived for next cycle. So I'm sitting the rest of this one out - if I've not caught it I've not caught it :(. I'll still keep popping in (lurking) for the next few weeks but I need to step back a bit & spend some more time concentrating on looking after myself instead of pushing myself too far :o. I hope that makes sense. I'll go back to predicting my usual 9bfps for you lovely ladies for Feb! Fingers crossed for you all xx

i'm signed up to that and my stuff should be arriving this week :/
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I can also sympathise with the whole feeling down thing. I got really, really low about it all and it’s only the past couple of weeks that I’ve started feeling better.

Hubby has his operation next week. Hopefully they get it right this time. We BD’d for the first time in 6 months (what with the original operation and my bleeding it was a bit impossible for a while) the other week and it was a bit painful for him. Hopefully once he’s recovered from this next operation he’ll be fine. And then we can really get back on track with TTC.

Yay for a bit of DTD ;) I really missed that side of things with DH this past month, so I can't imagine 6months! Bless him for suffering though, I really hope he heals supremely quickly (and correctly!) this time :)

No it doesn't sound like a chemical to me. Usually with a chemical, you get a BFP but few symptoms followed by AF when it is due. It isn't unusual to spot for a few days before AF arrives, or for your cycle to vary in length by a few days each month particularly when you have just stopped using the pill. So unless you would feel happier believing you did have a chemical (some people do), then I'd put the possibility out of your mind.

    Hey 20something,

I believe ASDA tests are one of the best tests people recommend. You can get IC (Internet Cheapies) from amazon or ebay etc.

The general idea is to first try with the IC (especially if you are expecting a negative) as they are really cheap and then once a ttlp appears use a more obvious test such as ASDA or clearblue (which can't be misinterpreted)

There is an ebay seller selling cheap clearblues (I have bought them)

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clearblue-Digital-Pregnancy-Test-conception-indicator-/110799217171?pt=UK_Health_HealthCare_RL&var=&hash=item5f792d2212#ht_1210wt_1270

they work fine but the instructions aren't included. HTH
