Hi, I'm new to this section of the forums *nervous wave* can I join you? I've only read back a couple of pages, this thread is quite a daunting length! I think it may take me a while to get to know you all and get the hang of all the abbreviations you guys use.

We've just started trying for our first baby this month.

My cycle started on the 3rd of Jan and last month was about 33 days long so I'm in the middle of that horrible couple of weeks between ovulation and the day AF is expected. I didn't think I was in any rush to get pregnant but the not knowing is horrible. I really feel for all those who have been through this month after month after month.

I used an ovulation calculator to guess when my most fertile days would be but my cycle hasn't settled down after coming off the pill yet so I might have been a bit off. I didn't recognise any signs of ovulating. I don't feel pregnant, it's weird to think that I might be.
Anyway, I shall know for sure by the end of the week. It's just a waiting game now...

    Welcome to the madhouse! :)

Ikkle I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Some of the comments are lovely from other MSErs and I cannot say much else that has not been said. Congratulations on the BFP. Thought it was your month.

Welcome 20somethinghousewife hope your stay is short and you get your BFP.

Stupid cold starting today. Going to try the cough medicine this month to see if I can get better CM instead of using Conceiveplus.

Welcome 20something. THe two week wait (2ww) is awful isn;t it? Worst part of the month. I think there is a lis of abbreviations on the front page, but here are some common ones:

    CBFM - Clearblue Fertility Monitor
    FF - Fertility Friend (website)
    CM - cervical mucus
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus (the fertile stuff that means ovulations is about to happen)
    OV - ovulation
    AF - period
    The witch - period
IC - internet cheapie (pregnancy tests)
    PG - pregnant
    BFP - big fat positive
    BFN- big fat negative
    TLP - tiny little positive
TTLP - teeny tiny little positive

I can;t think of any more right now. Hope that helps.

How could I forget those Sexymouse?!!!

Also, SMEP is Sperm Meets Egg Plan, you can Google that as it belongs to another site, but it's a plan for when to have sex to ensure swimmers (sperm) are fresh as posssible when they meet the egg.
