Hi  (she waves nervously knowing that once she writes on this thread she will be hooked on TTC)

    Can I join?

We wanted to TTC last year but decided to wait another year or so as it wasn't the right moment. Last week we had another chat and we both agreed that even if we waited another year we would be in the same place as we are today - no clue if we can afford to have a baby or how we will cope with all the extra cost that comes once we have a baby. So staying that, stating with next month we are officially TTC (as we missed the "boat" this month).

My plan is to BBT as my cycle is all over the place, to pay attention to my CM and also to use OPKs (not sure when should I use these as my cycles are 32-40 days long). Also, I will start taking Pregnacare as at the moment I take multi vitamins that have 40mg of folic acid but also have vitamin A.

I've ordered a BBT thermometer that came with some IC OPKs so I'm ready to go once AF is here.

QQ is it possible to add me to your list? Today is day 33 but no idea what DPO. I'm sure that next week will be day 1 so bring it on as I'm ready to BD (did I mention that I'm an very optimistic?)

Welcome and good luck Aida. Hope your stay here is short.

Negative OPK this pm so I suspect CBFM is not going to declare any peaks this month. But I intend to rely on the OPK yesterday and continue with SMEP. Am now wondering whether the CBFM is worth the cost of the sticks as this will be 2 out of 4 months when it hasn't detected ovulation when the digital OPks have ( though they are not cheap either).

Aida - welcome to the ttc thread, I hope your stay is short and you get your BFP soon.

Nicki - that is odd that you get positive opks but no peaks on cbfm. At least if you have been bding over weekend you won't have missed it.

Hugs for Flee & anyone else who needs one.

    Welcome to Aida!!

Well I just had a smiley OPK but have been ill all day with, I think that winter vomiting bug or some kind of food poisoning- the highlight of my day was a 2 hour nap on the bathroom floor!! So no BD tonight but possibly tomorrow, although no kissing, lol!!

Mrshappy, I've not started the essay yet either, was due to today but will have crack at it tomorrow. Hope you're still enjoying the course.

Hope everyone else is having a happier Saturday!

lol at you planning to test today, and now deciding you are ov! I find it funny with ttc - as kids the boys chased the girls, now we pin them down for on schedule bd'ing!

    CD1 for me today.

sorry to hear Flee. Seemed such a good chance this month. hugs.

For me, I am still holding out until Monday, but feeling a bit less hope than I was. Minimal symptoms - sore boobs, but no more than normal really and not much else. I had a bit of nausea earlier in the week while reading on the tube, but it went away quickly, so could have just been a bit of motion sickness.

And today I got a twinge... which felt a lot like the 1 week or so warning before AF. Just a flash, but felt worrying like my normal early warning system. Finger crossed, and am preparing for some peeing on a stick next week!
  • Welcome Aida :j

Sorry to bring the thread down but really low PMA today :(. Although my Grandma got out of hospital last week the nursing home said yesterday that she is fading fast. I was there this afternoon and can't believe the difference a few days has made to her condition. I think its a matter of days now and to say my Mum and I are in pieces would be an understatement. Between this, working extra hours at work and being at risk of redundancy later in the year, I have had enough of 2012 already!

I don't think I have ovulated yet this month (don't temp) but don't hold out much hope for a BFP this month.

I probably won't post much over the coming days.

((Hugs)) to all that need or want them
