AbFab, the Boots glitch is here :)

Many thanks, Birdie85. Though I am thinking I don't want to stock up on Pregnacare as I hope not to be TTC much longer! I already have a good stock of Folic Acid too.

Oh and I are thinking about a dog - more King charles though. What are springer spaniels like? I'm used to labs but our house is too small.

So, today I did my first ever pg test. I have no self control. It was far too early - I'm not due AF till Tues onwards but I've been feeling so queasy and tired I'd convinced myself it could be true. Talk about psyhcosomatic (sp?)

So I just ate 3 packets of crisps, 2 cakes and a MAHOOSIVE portion of homemade fish and chips.

Did I mention my lack of self control :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ah you are the same as me, if I buy the test I do it, whatever rule or date I set in my head. I am about 5DPO and already twitching to buy a test. I am due AF a week on Tuesday and if I haven't tested by a week today I will consider that willpower :rotfl:

Congratulations Mishka - that digi makes all the difference, have to say I could barely see the line on the other one. £12 well spent :T

vesper, I know how you feel, I am desparate to leave work, now would be perfect timing re money and other stuff, plus if I don't have an end date in site I will be even more depressed. But can't look for anything else as no mat pay - my current work would give me about £15k in mat. leave and I can't face giving that up. Have you tried the house buying or mortgage board - they're great help there (I lurk there under another non-secret ttc name)

I've been to the FS appt, and eggs permitting, we are go for egg collection again!:j They only gave me 3 femara tabs (similar to clomid) to take for CD3-5. Seems a tad low dose for me with pco, but never mind:o
:j When will they want to do the collection? Don't worry so much QQ, they know what they're doing - you never dreamed you'd produce as many as you did naturally last cycle, after all ;)
Littlezee, thanks for the BFP dream, I'd love to have one of those too, better in real life, but a dream one would be lovely at this stage:happyhear
Oh, are you really going to take all those tablets? You will rattle when you walk:rotfl:
Chromium I want to get cos it's supposed to help your insulin along (and also curb sugar cravings, theoretically, so thought that might be worth a go). They're pretty expensive though, imo, so I'm looking at that Boots glitch - but I've got to be honest, the whole thing completely confuses me! I can't work out the maths on it at all :o Is it just me? blush.gif I also was pondering some magnesium, which I could get with the chromium, and potentially some agnus castus. I started the B vit complex this morning, with the Mr T pregnacare supplement, and a omega/joint oils (which looks gross, but I do have joint issues, so it's probably a wise choice :o it actually went down easier than I expected ;)) Because there's the folic in the pregnacare-type one, I don't need to take that too, so it's "only" another couple a day ;)

It is a bit daunting, but I took more tablets when I was allowed my normal (non-pg-friendly) medication (pre TTC), so not too bad ;) And if it helps in anyway lose weight/feel better/crave less crap/get pg, then it'll be worth it :D DH really wants a baby too, I so want to give him his dream :o
My MIL has aortic valve stenosis, where the valve has become calcified, and in danger of stopping altogether. She needs an op involving threading a catheter through a blood vessel in her leg (not open heart surgery). She said she just want to go naturally when it's her time:o
How old is she? Is she "just" scared, do you think? My MIL wouldn't contemplate operations until she had the stroke, then was (relatively) quite happy to have whatever it took! I think people often have a sense of disbelief/denial about whether what they're being told about will actually happen in reality.

So just back from the doctors total nightmare it took 6 needle attempts to get my blood :eek:
I was also going to suggest having plenty of fluids before going for the test, but also make sure that you are/keep warm on the way to the test, as the colder you are, the more your veins retreat from the surface ;)

Btw, Birdie, that was only some of what was going on in my brain ;):p

ETA: Twigglet, aww you must be excited about your springers. How many are you getting?
I was watching It's Me Or The Dog USA yesterday and she was working with a doggie rescue place (both ours are rescues); I wanted to take half of them home :(

I told him he didn't want to know do he insisted so I shouted right loud "THEY HELP YOU MAKE GOOD SPERM!!!" so he went 'ok, fair enough, I didnt want to know!!" then me right smug "I told you so :rotfl:"

My veins are invisible too, but I find drinking lots of fluid before the blood tests helps a bit, I may be wrong though, nothing scientific:p

    Get pg asap?:p
You're right about the water. It does help and the nurses have told me to drink a pint before having a blood test.

I have terrible veins too and when in hospital they had to call a doctor to take my blood as none of the nurses could do it! And it took the doc 6 attempts one time and I had the most awful bruises from it. On the bright side, I'm not scared of having my blood taken anymore. But can't stand the canular thingy...that really hurts.

You can take pregnacare all the way through pregnancy and while breastfeeding. They have quite a long expiry date too and mine are still in date for me to use for TTC the 2nd time :)

I am fuming! It's my birthday next sunday, and OH is being worse than useless. I was prepared for him to want to play football in the morning, as he always does. But now he's announced he's also going to watch the tottenham match in the afternoon so he's going to the pub. He usually goes to the pub after morning footie but I thought for once he might be able to make it home before 3.30pm. He knows how much it annoys me anyway, that's half of every weekend wasted. But now he wants to do it on my birthday as well?!??

There are other things I can do, obviously, but I'm just so p*ssed off and disappointed. He never puts me first, never compromises, never makes me feel special, or even noticed most of the time. For one day I just want to be a priority, not an afterthought, but he can't even manage that.:cry::mad::mad:

I just don't see the point in him even being here to be honest. If he doesn't even want to make an effort on my birthday then what is the point?

ETA: I know that sounds really whining, but for the past couple of years he hasn't even been here on my birthday as he's gone to watch football in london. Including my 30th!
  • That doesn't sound whiney at all tea-lover!! mine would be in serious trouble if he did that!!

I'll be back in a couple of hours. AF has left the building so I'm going to have that hot bath I've been looking forward to for the last two weeks!! Think I might be coming down with man flu so that better bog off before ov time too!!
