don't see why family history won't have some effect.
I would consider testing next Friday if you can wait that long
28 day cycle from 24th would mean af is due Saturday 21st so next Friday may be a little early. My maths and Biology is so shockingly bad, hopefully someone with more knowledge will follow.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Any ideas when is best to test if you have no idea when/if AF will show? I have been on cerazette for 6 years and not seen AF for the whole time. Stopped pill on xmas eve and have been regularly BDing since! I had a tiny bit of spotting on 31st, but that was all. I did fell a bit sick yesterday but don't know if i'm making the symptoms fit (if that makes sense!).
Oh, i dont know if family history comes into it, but my mum and my mums mum all got BFP straight away back in the day and didnt even get AF before it. I dont know whether family history even comes into it?
Thanks
Theoretically you could ovulate the day after coming off it, you would then need to wait two weeks after that to test so I would say Sunday at the earliest (but then I'm a square and wait until 14DPO before testing) If it's BFN you could always gets some ICs and test something like once a week until you get a BFP or AF.

Hi zcrat41  I feel exactly the same as what you have just written! We are also a bit of a 'weekend only' couple and in month 2 of trying properly (I have a feeling AF is about to arrive any day now so it'll be our third cycle of trying this month). I am also scarily obsessed... keep trying to be relaxed but it's not really working! I definitely think not talking to OH too much about it is the way forward - that's one of the things I love about this forum, being able to talk to other people about it! Next cycle I am planning to try and make a real effort mid week at least once a week, and not just during OV, so that OH doesn't feel too pressured.
Hope you will get your BFP soon - and try to relax, I'm sure being stressed won't help (I should take some of my own advice...)
I'm in a similar situation - although on month 4. Really not fussed amount the amount of BDing having to be done! Would rather read a book.:o
That said, on NYE, OH was rather sweet. He was sober (not bothered about alcohol), and said maybe next NYE we would have a baby with us - ahh.In QQ's absence ....
xx
LOL
I've had an achievement today - I set a target not to come on here too often (I'm at work so shouldn't be on at all). I managed to restrain myself to a quick look on my phone at lunchtime.
That said - it puts a smile on my face, so maybe it's good for me!
Have changed my GP appointment for the swab test to approx CD8 - better to be safe than sorry. So I have appointments for the next 3 Monday's - day 28 bloods, day 1/2 bloods (assuming AF comes) & day 8 I will have the swab (although that could have been done any day).
Hugs to all those not having the best start to the year & RebekahR, we all hope to be with you soon - or at least before you move onto the next group.0 -

Do you know when you ovulated? Generally, 14 days past ovulation (dpo) is a good time. If you don;t know, do you know when you usually ovulate? If not, then I'd say go for cycle day (CD) 28, which assumes ovulation around CD14, with an average 28-day cycle. If your cycle is longer (mine is) then you might be better waiting till 16DPO or CD30.
Oh sorry, just realised that you haven;t had an AF.
If you spotted on the 31st that *could* have been implantation, which generally happens no earlier than 7 DPO but more likely 10DPO (from what I've read), and the hormone then doubles each day, so I guess you should wait 3 days from that at least. Which would be yesterday.
So, maybe do a cheapie now? And if it's negative try again in a couple of days. I think that's what I'd do, but be prepared for being disappointed at a BFN. If you are able to make yourself wait a bit longer then that owuld be better. We have come to trash your thread with QQ away LOL. If it didn't work people wouldn't do it ;-)
No to 7dpo yes to 10dpo. If nowt at 10 then try again at 12 if nowt again wait til after period date. T'was my moto
Shush!! I am 11dpo I think (have to check the sticky lol) and I made myself wee upstairs this afternoon, faaar away from the tests downstairs, because I am starting to get twitchy but I want to wait till the weekend.
Elelyn - that sounds really hopeful, go do a digi!!!

When I stopped cerazette at start of august, had a withdrawal bleed after about a week, and real periods returned at start of October. My gp said it could take up to a year though, and my periods had stopped completely too. Since first long cycle I've had 2 normal ones, and am due on Friday for this cycle, although fingers crossed it won't happen!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

All this talk of early testing is soooo tempting, i'm going for tea at home. On Friday and I'd love to be able to tell in person if I get a bfp. I only have 1 test though so don't want to waste it!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Thank you thank you!! I've been driving myself mental thinking I should do a test now but was thinking Sunday would be good as it's a bit later and hopefully be a better chance of a BFP. I have it in my head it'll be a BFN so if it's not at least I won't be too upset!!
On a funny note, have just spoken to OH who had no idea that you could get a BFP so quick, he thought it would take at least 6 months...I think I need to have a little birds and bees conversation when we go home
PS. I LOVE this forum!!! It has made me feel so much better, my friends are nowhere near thinking about babies and I don't want to speak to my OH about everything coz he would panic about all the baby talk!! Thank you all so much!!Saving money like a trouper...0 -
Good evening ladies,
I feel as if I haven't posted for aaaaaages, but it's only been a few days
Hi Rebekah and sa-ra-ra-ra-hope you're both keeping well
BZ-hope your MIL improves
Tink (I think) hope you're daughter is on the mend
 newbies, hope your stay is short and sweet.
Ohhh, sounds good eleyn-digi digi digi
Congratulations the next verse, wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x
Not much happening here, I'm cd whatever is on the list, and 15 dpo-for the first time FF was wrong with it's date for AF as nothing has happened so far today, although I have been a wee bit crampy since getting in from work tonight. I haven't bothered testing-it feels a bit pointless since mrhappy has had 2 rubbish SA's in a row, I might test in the morning if AF doesn't arrive during the night though.0 -
Fingers crossed Elelyn!
Sorry to hear about your MIL BZ
No news here, but funny to read about the 'weekend only' BD-ers, that's what we were/are!Our best friends know that we're TTC (we can't keep secrets from our gang!) and the first thing I said to my girlfriends was, 'We have to have so much sex it's too much like hard work!' We're not even at it as much as we should be! They thought it was hilarious but I bet they'll be saying the same thing to me when they're TTC! :rotfl:

I have my box of tissues ready for OBEM, but it makes me cry in a happy way. OH watched a couple last series with me, and has agreed to watch this series, as we usually watch a film or something together on a wednesday night as it's my night off.
Been invited to my friend's son's funeral on monday as a part of the cricket club. I really don't know if I should go or not, especially as OH doesn't think he can get time off work. All of our cricket club are going and I am their tea lady hence why I have been asked to go.
OH has got a promotion today at work, not sure exactly what it entails as I didn't understand what on earth he was going on about. But it does mean longer hours, but more regulated (at the moment I don't ever know what time he will finish), and means he is a go between, between his boss and their partners. All I understand is that it involves a nice little pay rise. So it will make us quite comfortable. So we're quite happy.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0
