Hi to all the newbies and returners - nice to see new faces.

Congratualtions The Next Verse! Fab news :)

On when you test, this time I am waiting till Saturday when I will be 14dpo. It will be CD27 which is early but I think 14dpo is the more important number in terms of the hormone. I don't feel either pregnant or pre-menstrual so who knows what the result will be? I only have 2 cheapies and can;t get any more easily so I am wanting to use them wisely.

I feel at peace with it either way, actually, which is nice. If I'm not PG I shall eat brie and pate, and drink wine, and colour my hair, and enjoy it, and try again next month, and if I am PG then will see my Gp and demand he gives me early scans (or sob uncontrollably and demand early scans, whichever).

    Fingers crossed for you.

Re:scans where I am they won't test until you've had three consecutive mc's but after two consecutive they will scan you at 6,9 and 12 weeks. Ive been told that I will get this (just need to see gp as soon as get BFP) and that they do it as research has shown that by having extra scans and care (will be under consultant care also) often increases the chances of a successful pg (it also says this in the book about mc ive been reading recently). It can't hurt to ask your GP, and hopefully they offer the same or you at least get a sympathetic doctor.

I think the policy here is to do sweet FA till you've had three in a rown, but I have seen that research you're talking about and I'm going to take it with me and see what I can get. I think my history of mental illness might actually be a good thing here - if I can milk it on that level I might get a scan or two.

It's going to be worth a shot anyway. I did check the NICE and ACOG guidelines but it's not really covered - they just don't seem to understand how awful it is to be scared throughout pregnancy.

I hope they listen to you. I get why they don't test before three consecutive mc's but like you say it's as if they sometimes don't realise how stressful it can be. I so desperately want to be pg again but at the same time I'm so very frightened. In my head I'm just assuming that it will all go wrong again and nothing anyone can say about how common two consecutive mc are will make me think any different. It is partly to do with the fact that my only experience of pregnancy has been negative but also because I think I will be trying to protect myself. Its such a shame because pregnancy is supposed to be happy and exciting not sad and terrifying.

Our consultant has offered us additional scans if we wish when the time comes however last pregnancy I had a scan every 2 weeks from 11 weeks and it made no difference so don't think personally I will be pushing for any additional scans however will see if and when it happens.

Today my fridge freezer arrived :D however I measured the door but not the doorway which meant it didn't fit in the flat :( we ended up having to go through a window. But I now have a freezer with ice-cream already in it :D

  • Well my ss today are that I have no symptoms :rotfl: last cycle I had more twinges & symptoms coming out of my ears!! I've just resisted the urge to test at 6dpo - but only cause the tests are still in the bedroom & husband would have spotted me lol.

In other news I had an interesting conversation about preseed at work today after one of my staff spotted an opk lurking in the depths of my handbag!

Unfortunately I am full of symptoms today.. but for the wrong thing. Standard T-2 days AF symptoms, so I think Sunday testing isn't going to happen.

oh well, I knew chances were low with not too much BD this month.

    I'll keep you posted!
