Got the voucher months ago.. last date to use is 21st sept.. have tried to book the appointment through website, never recieve any acknowledgement email or anything... falling at the first hurdle....
will call groupon on monday for a refund0 -
Is Groupon usually this dodgy? I've heard people rave about the deals they get, but this will certainly be my first and last purchase with them. The fact Pearl National is a scam is bad enough - but for Groupon to not reply to emails for over 5 days when fraud is suspected is absolutely appalling.0

I have received an email from Groupon almost a week later saying they are refunding my payment. Still none the wiser about Pearl National, their website is fairly basic and doesn't have much on it. I am going to rebook with a more established and reliable clinic - anyone know of any?0

Recently had my teeth done through Pear National for £69 (groupon voucher) what a load of rubbish. They rented a small room in a building, not very professional. It all seemed rushed, in the end my teeth were patchy and my gums became very blistered and sore. I have tried contacting Pearl National and Groupon and had no reponse. Just be wary, I think you get what you pay for.0

I am worried now after reading this thread! I have an appointment with Pearlnational in Manchester on Friday. I have been trying to ring constantly to change the appointment but the line is constantly engaged. I have just rang Groupon who said that because they are still taking bookings (although I don't know how anyone has got through) they can not give me a cash refund. I have accepted a credit in groupon vouchers as I don't want to take any chances with my teeth by going.0

I have e-mailed Groupon about 5 times now, tweeted them (they just pass me on to their e-mail support@groupon.co.uk, ridiculous since no one replies!) Been waiting over a week for a reply. Crap Customer Service.0

I have bought a Groupon voucher for Babble.com before and it worked great. But after purchasing the Pearl National one and still not hearing anything from Groupon... I will never use their services again.0 -
Hi everyone,
I must support Groupon - I've bought loads of vouchers for all sorts of things and had no problem redeeming them. They are excellent.
Pearl National - I bought one of the Pear National vouchers myself. I had no difficulty booking into the Liverpool Branch and I've been for my teeth whitening session today.
First the good news - my teeth are much much whiter than they were.
Bad news - I've got a lot of pain in my teeth which hasn't really eased after taking paracetamol (In fairness to them I do have extremely sensitive teeth so this might not happen to everyone).
My overall impression? - not very professional. The 'therapist' was running late and it was just a room in an office building of mixed businesses. I was not asked if I had sensitive teeth and I overheard a conversation between two 'therapists' which made it clear that they had not been professionally trained. It was apparent that one was a 'temp' who had been trained by the other!
My therapist was also complaining that she was allergic to the air-conditioning and her nose & eyes were constantly streaming. Not her fault but a surgical mask would have been nice!!
I bought two other vouchers, one for my daughter and one for my Mother which I will cancel if my teeth are still sore tomorrow..0 -
I too have had the same problem. I bought two of these deals, one for me and one for my husband, we have wanted to get it done together for ages and I bought it as a suprise for his birthday.
I submitted our details on survey moneky as detailed about 2 weeks ago and was told I would be contacted between 5-7 days to agree an appointment, this time came and went and in the mean time I stumbled across this thread which really started to get me worried.
From Monday I have been trying to call pearl national on the number provided and it only ever goes stright onto hold music, very frustrating! Anyway, I tried calling groupon on Tuesday but after 10 mins on hold I eventually gave up and sent an e-mail. Nno response as yet so I just rang them again and after about 5-10 mins on hold someone eventually answered. I explained that I wasn't happy with the delay of nearly two weeks already and that no-one at pearl national ever answer the phone and that I was concerned about the validity of the deal after stumbling across the comments on this website (thanks guys!). Anyway, eventually she said they dont have any reports of problems with this deal and they must just be experiencing some delays, so she couldnt authorise a refund or cancellation. I said, but your website says 'if you feel groupon has let you down then they will refund a deal' and that i did feel i had been let down by groupon, that there was a reputable company around the corner that offered this service for more money but that at least they were reliable and I wanted my money back immediately so that I could book it with the other company. she told me to wait a minute and put me on hold. 5 minutes later she came back to say that the deal had been cancelled and the money refunded. I checked my paypal account whilst still on the phone and the money was there, thankfully!
Whilst I know its not groupons fault, they should not allow companies to sell an amount of deals that they cannot comfortably service, in a reasonable amount of time. If it has taken over two weeks for them to even return my call (and who knows how long it would have taken) then I don't like to think how long it would have been before I could have got an appointment. and form reading some of the posts on here, I don't know how happy I would have been to go ahead and have the treatment done anyway.
Thanks for everyone who posted on here, you spurred me on to look into this further and get a refund. If you get in touch with groupon, quote their policy about being let down to them and they should give you a refund. Good luck everyone0 -
@RachelBlythe
