Howdy peeps.. am not long back from the hospital....

Daughter took an overdose last night in the street.. passing ambulance picked her up and took her to A&E sooo...... she's in again for the weekend. She got quite aggressive and nasty to me this evening in the ward and then took a bundle of paper out of her bag and ran off to the toilets... I immediately was suspicious, got a nurse and we got into the toilet and found something resembling a butcher's shop window.. turns out she'd stolen a used needle from the sharps box last night in the A&E dept and was using that.. so now she's got to be tested for HIV and the various Hepatitis things n that..... arrgghhh - it just never seems to stop :(

I'm bloody knackered.. been up since 5ish yesterday morning.. think tonight might be a 2 pill job if I dare.. I'm scared in case the hospital needs to get me n I don't hear the phone tho :/

    Hugs to everyone xxxxxxxxxxx

    ((((((Ethel))))

Nothing I can say other than to hope things improve for you both.
I hope this means your daughter will get the help that she needs.

    Gillette

My daughter used to get awful headaches and going to acupuncture helped a lot. Once we had ruled out other causes.

Hugs to all. And saucer of milk for Tiff.;)

Hi everyone :hello: Sorry I've not been on here much today, just trying to get stuff done and on top of that ignore the fact that I've to go to work (and counselling) tomorrow!:) Inspired by Elona, I have two sourdough loaves ready to go into the oven and slow cooker full of good things which I'll switch on when I leave for work in the morning.

Hope you're all doing ok. Big hugs to everyone.

    howdy peeps :)

Well.. we wont have any definite info for three months for the blood tests  I can't belive how stupid she was!!!

She's still in the hospital.. used drawing pins out of a notice board to cut herself some more :/ She's not making life easy for the nurses.. she's in a children's ward because of her age but it's really not set up to cope with a mentally disturbed adolecscent although the nurses are lovely and doing their best.

There's going to be a review meeting tomorrow with the staff from the clinic where she normally is.. local social services, the local mental health team, our GP and someone from the PCT.. she must be causing ripples for the bigwigs to be coming out of the woodwork eh?

Soo.. I've got to drop off the cat at the vets in the morning, dash back home, get booted n suited and get to the faaaaaaaaaaaaar other side of london for the meeting then dash back to collect the cat.. wish me luck guys, lol

Thanks all of you for the kind words and support you've expressed over this.. it means a lot.. especially since I'm too afraid to tell anyone in the real world about it in case they start treating her differently :/

    big huggs for everyone xxxxxxxxx

    Hi ethel hun!:hello:
How are you today angel? Just want to wish you luck for your meeting today - finally it sounds like they're all getting their acts together and taking some notice! I mean hun - how many clues do they need?! help.gifrolleyes.gif

Fingers crossed on the blood tests angel. I know A&E are always hectic, but knowing her history, they should have been more alert - or at least have the sharps in an inaccessible place. Bless the nurses - they go through so much and it's a scarey situation for all involved. I hope today they come up with all the help and support you both need and deserve.:T
    Ethel - you're a real hero!:A We love ya hun! grouphug.gif
Thinking of you - post when you can.hug.gif

    Hi cm!:hello:
Hope you're getting enough r 'n' r hun and that you're well on the road to recovery. hug.gif
It sounds as if you've got a real sweetheart with OH angel. nod.gif

When we're going through our crises, it's so hard to remember exactly what those closest to us are going through too. Some people are luckier than others in this respect, but at least threads like this one make it feel as if you're not alone in what you're going through.
So to all those who give such wonderful care to us, be you loved ones or professionals, thank you for all that you do. :T
