Hi cif!:hello:
How are you today angel? I'm sorry things are so tough at the moment hun.:o
quote=cifpower
I had a bad spell just before easter. I sat by my PC and popped my Dosulepin tablets out of their pack and lined them up on the table. I took one, followed by a sip of water and then another until I had taken all 10. I just sat there and lit a cigarette. An hour after my heart started racing, my legs and arms started shaking and I couldn't breathe properly. I wasn't expecting this - I just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up.
I rang 999 and was taken to hospital where I stayed for 6 or 7 hours.
Next time angel (God forbid), reach for the phone or the keyboard and not the tablets! I'm really sorry that you felt that low that you felt you had to take this action. I'm so glad you called 999 hun and that you're still here to tell us about it. You were very lucky.
If you ever feel like that again angel, call the out of hours dr or your Crisis Team or NHSDirect or the Samaritans BEFORE you do it. I'm not preaching or having a go at you hun - just trying to show you there's a different way, even though things must have seemed at their blackest.:o
A lot of people who OD think they'll just fall asleep and that'll be it. Not so.
If you are putting an unsafe amount of anything in your body, you are going to get the physical reactions it causes. And they can be very nasty. They can even leave you with a permanent chronic illness or a disability. ODs rarely work imho. Your body protects itself by fighting with the chemicals you've taken.
So what you do to try and solve your problems when you take an OD guys, actually 99% of the time, just gives you even more problems!:o It's never worth it guys.
I have been off my medication since then and, tp out it bluntly, have been high as a kite. I laugh giddily at nothing and talk to myself about crap.
I finally made an appointment with my GP on Monday and I am seeing her this afternoon. I was not looking forward to it but realised it had to be done./quote
Well done for seeing the dr angel. I think it's very wise of your gp to let the expert in the field review things with you today hun. As far as your symptoms go, please tell them everything hun.
Good luck with your appt angel - let us know how you get on cif. Thinking of you hun and wishing you well.
Much Love,

Hi qb!:hello:
How are you hun? Hope you're feeling better.
You're right, ads can take varying amounts of time to take full effect as can any med. If you're worried that something's not working guys, then it's time to go visit your cuddly gp!
Hope you're enjoying the sunshine qb. Take care hun.
Much Love,

Hiya everyone
Hope you're all fine
Things have been a bit stressy here lately..
My son's school have screwed up again.. we had a big meeting just before they broke up for easter and they said they had put some plans in place to help him get back into school and he would be attending a specialist unit to help re-integrate him. Guess what? He duly turned up on Tuesday and they had no knowledge of him and worse yet they have filled their quota and have no space for him til after the summer
It had seemed that my daughter was getting better.. but on wednesday she managed to cut a vein and almost succeeded in killing herself. She lost half her blood and had to have a transfusion and is now very weak and poorly. Those of you who do self-harm.. PLEASE PLEASE think about what you're doing and the potential consequences, not just for you but for those who care about you. It's not big and it's not clever and it's very a selfish and hurtful thing to do.
As for me.. I have to go and have tests next week for thyroid something or other and diabetes.. I think it would be a kindness if someone would take me out the back and put me out of my misery, they would if I was a dog! I'm seriously getting to the stage where I'm worn out with everything and just keep wondering what life is gonna throw at me next - whatever it is I don't want it!
Take care all xxxxxx☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Hi beeswing!:hello:
I really feel for you hun. With what you're going through, it's not surprising you feel so low.
quote=beeswing
Hi everyone, I think I've become depressed again because of my debts and forthcoming bankruptcy (11th May). I decided I had to come home from work yesterday because I couln't stop crying, it's so frustrating - for years when I've wanted a good cry - nothing, now I can cry at the drop of a hat!!
That's how it can be angel. Sometimes all it takes is just one more drop in the barrel hun and our bodies need a way to release those negative chemicals and crying is it. Cry as much as you want to hun - it stops things building up to critical mass.;)
I was asked to do a different job yesterday, which I have done before, but I thought OMG I can't do this!!! Then the crying started and I had to phone my boss. She was really good, I told her about the BR, and that I was worried about losing my job and she was fine. Unfortunately I have to use holidays for yesterday and today because we only get statutory sick pay, but nevermind.
I'm really glad you found the courage to tell your boss hun and I'm so glad you got such a positive reaction.:T At least now it's out in the open and you have one less thing to worry about. It's a shame about the holiday pay but better than nothing. At least hun you know that at some point, the bankruptcy issue will end and that's what you need to look towards when you can hun.;)
I hope the depression gets easier - GP put me on Dosulepin last week, be glad when the BR is over and done with./quote
Well hun, different meds work differently for different people and take different amounts of time to fully work.
I hope your gp is monitoring you to see how you are with it.;) If you have any problems angel, go back and discuss them. The drs tend to start you on the minimum dose usually just in case. The more support you get hun and the better you look after yourself, the better you'll feel.:T
There is hope hun honestly. There are so many treatment options with mental ill health. Take care hun - hope you feel better. Take care.
Much Love,

Hi guys!:hello:
Well, got appointments until this afternoon so I'll try and get back later.
Best wishes to all with tests or appts today.
I hope you're resting in hospital rose! Feel better soon hun.
Also sending hugs out to our pumpkin - just 2 weeks until the wedding hun! You must be exhausted!
I posted this info on the main Health and Beauty Board but just in case you didn't see it, PLEASE take time to check out your meds leaflets. Some meds can make you lose all your protection against the sun. It's very important that you protect yourself. It can happen with all sorts of meds so if it's asthma or anything else you have, it's worth checking.
:money: If this is the case due to a long term problem, you can ask your gp and see if they'll put it on prescription, which they have for me. Suncreams/blocks are always expensive. If you're on certain benefits then the prescriptions are free.
Anyway, hope this helps.
Look after yourselves guys and I'll hopefully catch you soon. Tiff hugs to all.

Ta Tiff, good post again, my g/f is really helping me at the minute with my money situation, watching what I spend, we are hoping to move in together next year so there is a big thing to focus towards, ive got my laptop on ebay, then its day 0 with a proper budget.
I used to lose sight of the money because my overdraft (£500) made my figures have little or no clarity because of the overdraft i had to pay back, then it was a spiral, once i get paid (laptop / job) ill halve my odraft to £250, then get rid of it totally. I know what outgoings I have and I can budget for them,0 -
Big hugs to all, especially to Ethel, who needs them at the moment with her and her families problems.
LTD - Barclays may have taken a while to get back to you as they probably needed to do basic records checks and financial checks before they could proceed. In theory these shouldn't take a long time but they can do.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:
