grrr.. washing machine still not fixed.. we have to order a part but on the upside its only £15 and its on next day delivery :D

I forgot to ask him about your boiler sazbomb, cos he's off on hols on monday and wont be back for 3 weeks  but I'll ask my mum who services hers, I don't have one in my house so I know nothing about them, lol

I think british gas have a scheme where you pay an annual fee n they come out and repair as often as need be tho.

Thanks hun, I don't have gas though - it's electric heated, a bit like a giant electric kettle lol - so I reckon either thermostat or element has gone kaput. Have found a reputable-looking company on the interweb, so might give them a call. What a nightmare with your washing machine, grrr what a faff having to go to the laundrette.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has posted about this...I had a shocking conversation with my husband last night when he revealed that he hates himself and everything in his life..including me. We moved house about 6 months ago and although he has a job where we used to live, it's really inconvenient for the pair of us (as I regularly end up picking him up at all hours!). He's been more quiet then usual over the past couple of weeks but when I've asked as to what is wrong, he always says he's tired - even if he's been on his day off! Last night everything came out which ended in us both becoming incredibly upset - he even told me how he'd contemplated suicide! Today he seemed a little brighter and set off for work, but was sent home and instead of coming home, went elsewhere - to a relative's house. He's told his family he's fed up of the marriage, me, job...u name it! I'm finding it really hard to cope with this to be honest and have spent some part of today in tears again! I just feel so useless! Any tips would be great of course. I've managed to convince him to go to the doctor next week though!

Big hugs nippy, thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time. His going to the doctor is the best thing though, well done convincing him to go!:) That in itself is often hard. But he needs to discuss all his concerns fully with the doctor so that the doctor can devise a treatment plan that's right for him. It's hard to advise not knowing your situation hun, but has there been any indication from him of problems in the past all? Either work, health, or relationship related? Or difficulties in his past perhaps, not connected to you? Do you think it might be worth considering relationship counselling?

It can't be easy for you having to deal with this nippy, and it must have taken a lot of courage to post. But please don't feel you're on your own hun - there is help and support available. And you can post here any time. Take care, Sazxxx

Thanks very much Saz - this has really come like a bolt out of the blue..as I said he's said little the past couple of weeks, then this. We've been married 2 years - been together 12. No indication of problems in the past except for when he was a kid - holding his temper was an issue! But I've seen nothing of that over the past 12 years!

I'd certainly do whatever it takes to get him back to 'normal' but can't help even wondering if he really wants 'us' to be us if that makes sense.

He left the house at 8 this morning...I've had two texts today and an upsetting phone call - I know it's wrong to 'chase him', so I'm letting him do what he needs - he's with the relative, so I at least know he's safe! I'm trully knackered so will go to bed in the next hour but of course won't be able to sleep. Think I'll open a bottle of wine.
