Hi i feel silly posting this on here but i need help .
My husband is depressed he has been on ant depres before but this time he wont go see the doctor , he made apt but wont go . last nite he tolod jme he is not happy here with me and wants to go .. he said some awful awful things.
i am in bits i dont want him to go what can i do do i need to let him just go please help me im sad and dont know what to do .. i asked him to stay said i will do all i can to suport him ?

Hi,There is no need to feal silly posting this is a support forum for depression and you need support.Have you offered to go with him to the doctor? did ad's help him before?I think some people think they are somehow "weak" to need medication but depression is an illness like any other.Try not to be upset when he says hurtful things and remember he also said you are the best thing that ever happened to him so he DOES care.If he is set against taking tablets the doctor can offer other help as feely has said, councelling, talking therapies ect so try and persuad him to go with or without you.

Leaving someone is very hard - it isn't as clear cut as "I want to leave, so I'll leave" - he is probably very confused and upset - try and not force his hand though, or you risk pushing him in to a descision that he wouldn't otherwise make. That said, if things are affectig you, then maybe you need to confront him and tell him how it is affecting you and your children. Would he consider private counselling instead of seeing a doctor?

Yes i think the same as you if he really wanted to go he would just go.How have you reacted to this? have you said you want him to stay?maybe he just wants reasurance that you care.
