Yes i agree well said.
I wouldn't be able to keep up with it, or have the patience.
A massive thank you, and good luck to them too xxxxxx0 -
Do not give up take a break for a while and come back to it i have been comping for years but as the numbers of compers increase it does seem harder to win. but as they say you have to be in it to win it, In the past 6 months all i've won is a fake tan and a mini mascara, but i keep going because looking at what people win on here spurs me on. You just never know
Thanks to everyone that posts the comps xxx0 -
I'm in a similar position to you; I've been comping for a few months and have won nothing. I like the buzz I get from checking my phone/inbox but it is dishearting not to have won anything at all. I'll persevere for now but just a small win would be be a great incentive to carry on. Good luck!0

It isn't how many comps people enter that really fascinates me, it is the dedication and motivation of those like Lakshmi and weeowens who constantly find comps for others to enter. That is so time consuming - not only finding the comps but also posting in the format that most approve of etc. Although many people click on the Thanks button they would not know the posters if they passed them in the street yet they are responsible for getting many people some big wins.
We may get fed up entering comps but don't they get very fed up finding them? I hope they win a lot.Barnabysue wrote: »Well said, I've often wondered how they find the time.Yes i agree well said.

Thanks a lot for the appreciation. It is very much appreciated my myself & no doubt by Lakshmi7 as well.
I've had some great wins via MSE in the past but my wins have dropped off as well.
I still gain enjoyment from posting plus at times I can only post & not enter so it works for me.
Thanks again.0 -
Don't give up. You'll come up trumps in the end.
I get patches where I don't win a thing and I get a little disheartened, then a nice surprise will come through the post or I get an winning email then all the effort becomes worthwhile. could be a tube of hand cream, but I don't care, I still get rather chuffed.
Last year I did brilliantly and this year has dropped off a lot. It's just luck and if I don't win on one comp, I just try again.
When I won the McDonalds comp last year (thanks again Lakshmi7) I thought that if I never win another thing I wouldn't be bothered because I'd hit a biggie and could never repeat that success.
It doesn't stop me from having a go though
I look at it this way, it's a little hobby for me that I enjoy. I occasionally have a break, but seeing others win spurs me on to keep at it. If a big win happens for them, then one day it'll happen for you, then you can come on here and tell everybody how thrilled you are, (after you've run around the house with a winning letter in your hand screaming and cheering your head off and your house down)
Believe me, there's no better feeling
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j0 -
I'm much the same as you dontone
I remember when we got a call from the Canadian Tourist Board to let me know we had won a week in Canada.I'd missed the two emails as I was in bed, plus my hotmail account is inundated with comping related tat. They rang later in the day & we were on cloud nine.
Even the small wins are good though.Popping to the Post Office to pick up a prize after a red card really gets one hoping for a biggie. My last was just three bottles of whisky but still very nice :-)0 -
Dont give up maybe be more selective in what you enter
I definately think the effort comps are the ones with the better odds. I enter those when I think I may have the right idea or photo and it worked as Im a finalist in the Babyliss comp on facebook. I work full time so its hard to enter everything, so anything I get with my trade magazines or comps in work I am all over them!! And ive won loads of bits and bobs as no one enters them!
I am desperatly saving for my wedding and I understand how hard it is, but just take it as everyone says a hobby in your spare time..... wish you luck .....0 -
Sorry to hear you are disheartened. I have been comping just over a year (this is a new user name) and had some nice wins, the best being £1,000 from one of the puzzle magazines.
I also won a fairly steady flow of smaller prizes - books and dvds.
But the last three months have been pants despite the fact that I have been entering the same number of comps. I think with the economic situation as it is more people are entering. And of course luck has a lot to do with it, perhaps I had 'beginners luck' and it has now fizzled out. It is disheartening when all the emails are just trying to sell you something.
You have had some very good advice - a form filler is a must - many here use Roboform, but I use Last Pass which does the job well. Don't comp if it is a chore, but if you can do it while watching tv then you can get into a routine and not have to think too hard about what you are doing. Best of luck with your future comping.:)It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Are you entering the main 'one off' comps? I just had a think through everything I have won so far and realised they are all from facebook! I am dead chuffed with what I have got, my biggest prize came from an effort comp and I am going to collect my vouchers next weekend

While £300 isn't a BIG win to most, it is to me, it means I don't have to panic about saving for xmas! I have also put the sauces, angel delight and a premixed Bacardi Mojito away to make a hamper for my mum for Xmas. Every little prize is well appreciated and I take my hat off to everyone who posts comps
