is it time to give up?

Don't give up! I think everyone has dry spells of not winning anything, and although yours has been very long, keep at it and I'm sure something will come your way soon

Hiya, last year I did really well and was very pleased with my wins, but at the beginning of this year, I won about one item until June, when I won a biggy, (Take that Tickets and a phone!) Has gone quiet again, I just keep going and live in hope. But if I get fed up, I give it a break for a week and have a fresh start later. There is loads of advice to make it quicker and easier to enter. Do not give up and good luck.2020: New Year, New Decade, New Adventures!!

The thing is I don't win much but find just entering and imagining very addictive.
Also if you have just a little win its still an amazing feeling and you always have that feeling that the big one is around the corner. If you stop entering then you won't have that hope.
However if you aren't enjoying it and feel its a waste of time then yes maybe you should give up. On the other hand if you find it fun without winning then carry on. Wins will come eventually. Its the law of averages.
I only enter what I actually want i.e. I leave wedding and children's/babies/sports/gigs/pop music comps alone for someone who really wants all that stuff. I don't tend to enter holiday comps because a holiday would be very awkward for us to take so my chances are less. I have had some wins though. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

There has been a big influx of people comping recently so the odds are lower, but I find most of my wins are ones that are from effort comps. The majority wont enter anything that has effort in the title and quite often you will need to think of a name, sub,mit a photo, caption, drawing, design etc. I think these are good ones to go for, my best wins have been from effort comps and it breaks up the form filing with something fun.
If you are spending several hours and not winning you could look into doing surveys and reviews, it doesn't take up as much time and often on other threads people can easily be making an extra £200 a month doing this, it's about the same effort but you will have extra cash in your poket each month for your efforts.
Good luck
Thank you very much for the advice, I would like to have a go at the surveys, I have seen this advertised but didn't give it much thought.
I would like to look into this, which is the best site for this please?0 -
Another thing to remember is those people who post big wins are experiencing the same drought. Often its the first big win they have had for a year or a couple of years. There are some people who win loads but I think they must be spending all day doing comps. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I've been comping for about a year and had no big wins but usually win a couple of times a month - one one day I won some make-up, a packet of sensations and a book. The biggest win I had was some haircare products. I only go in for comps where I would like the prize either for myself or family and friends (stops the cupboard full of tat). As it has been said don't comp because you want to win - win because you want to compproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Here of course!
Martin did a post on how to earn from surveys, and the good paying review sites are Dooyoo and Ciao.

It can often be more fruitful than comping, you know you are going to get a return whereas it's pot luck comping. You never know, iit might just be right up your street. HTHComping wishlist for 2017

Well i would just like to thank you all, for the advice and kind words.
I will look into roboform
Reading some of the posts, I don't think i enter enough, lol, i don't enter half as many as a lot of people have mentioned.
I don't enter comps for books, dvd's, games, toys etc as i don't have children, i wouldn't have any use for these items and it takes away the chance from people who do have children from winning, well that's what i think.
I only started comping to take my mind off things, i found it helped and cheered me up, but now i'm getting a bit fed up with it, if i'm honest. (just like the constant knock backs from the hundreds of jobs i have applied for, over the last year and getting no where, but that's another story and the wrong forum)
I must just be unlucky!
So i think i will take the advice offered and take a break from it all, and come back refreshed and with a more positive attitude.
Thanks once again, everyone, you are all great!
And good luck to you all xxxxx0 -
