If you think your pepper is about to go then chop chop chop and freeze in little bags/pots. Saves time too when cooking as they ready chopped :)
I never knew you could freeze them, I bought some from Lidl and they never lasted as long as those from Sainsbury's, I'll remember to freeze them next time.

I've got to say, there's pretty much nothing I won't freeze! I'm forever buying reduced veg at the supermarket and freezing it up into portions. this goes for stuff like bacon too-since we only use it in pasta/potato dishes we'd never use a whole pack at once and so I will chop the whole pack and fry it, then freese in portions. All this helps with my weightwatchers too as it's easy to freeze in pointed portions!

just made a great storecupboard lunch-OH was very impressed:

    Tin Tuna
    Tin chopped tomatoes and herbs
    veg stock cube
italian stock cube (I love these little things!)
    balsamic vinegar/salt/pepper
frozen veg form the freezer-whoopsied green beans and sweetcorn
A leek that was looking a bit sorry!

made a lovely bowl of pasta for us and enough to take to work tomorrow-I'm loving this old style thing!!!

Hands up-- I admit to throwing away a very small portion of frozen/defrosted/cooked and chilled Rhubarb this morning as it really was past its best. Cost nothing as it was from allotment so I'm not worried. I have a bowl of rice/green beans in fridge which was cooked earlier this week, it is covered, can I still eat it? Or does rice have a cooked shelf life?
    Thanks

I have 3 hard boiled eggs in the fridge, been there since yesterday. What can I do with them ? No cold meat for salads in the house.

Rice is pretty dodgy. You're supposed to use it by the next day, even if it's been refrigerated, as it contains bacteria that can cause food poisoning. So probably not worth risking it.

Made some muffins with mixed peel - nice, but needed to be sweeter for my taste. Enough left for another batch, so can try to improve on them!

Had roast chicken last night, so stripped the carcass and then made stock and made soup with the stock this morning. I normally put rice in my HM chicken soup, but used up some pearl barley from the cupboard and also some quinoa. I bought the quinoa because Gillian McKeith kept raving over it, but I tried it on the family once and now they won't touch the stuff. Well, that soup is just the best soup I've ever had in my life! It is sooooo nice. So the quinoa can be drip fed into soup for a while. Yay - another random cupboard thing accounted for.

Mush them with some mayo to make egg mayo sarnies for lunch tomorrow?

Slice in half with a dollop of mayo on top, sprinkle of cayenne pepper and put on a bed of lettuce for a starter.

    Egg curry?

Thanks, it has gone in bin - another small waste but in the cause of human kindness. Estimated cost approx 20p.

Kedgeree? Rice, onion, fish (supposed to be smoked cod/haddock, but I use tinned salmon and tinned tuna and it's nice) and Bob's your mother's brother. I add lemon juice and nutmeg to mine, plus some curry powder but would be fine without as you don't like curry. A bit of soy sauce makes it extra tasty.
