how about banging OH over the head with it?!
Seriously, I'd just put myself in charge of toast, instead.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

well I can:D
if it hasnt been buttered you could blitz it for breadcrumbs
I want toast now:rotfl::heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Pop it in the freezer, add it to any other bits of stale/unwanted bread. When you have enough make into a bread and butter pudding. Yum.
I do this even if it has marmalade on - it just adds to the flavour.0 -
DS won't eat reaheated toast (its usually made for him) and often me and OH have eaten something else in the meantime and dont want extras because of the calories (its confusing I know) so the end result is usually 2 slices of stone cold toast heading for the bin
...the question is can i make it into croutons perhaps and freeze them, how do i do that?
DS needn't know it's reheated - or depending on his age etc he needn't get to choose!
You could incorporate toast into your meals later in the day eg. beans on toast at lunchtime, soup with (reheated) toast etc.
To make it into croutons, just rub each slice with garlic if you like, then cut it into squares (I use kitchen scissors for this). Before serving, heat 1/2 teaspoon of oil in a small frying pan and frazzle them until hot. If you want to freeze them, do it after cutting into squares and then frazzle in hot oil from frozen.

PS how about either a) getting DS to make his own toast if he is old enough or b) getting him into bread for breakfast instead?!0 -
Melba toast? Split it through the middle and toast the inner sides under the grill till crispy. Eat with pate.
Got to say though that it's a bit odd to refuse to eat toast just because it's gone cold. Why? Not in this house that's all I can say! Cold toast or starve, that's the choice here.Val.0 -
Err make OH eat it cold himself each time?
He might suddenly start having less senior moments:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I like cold toast, I prefer it to be cold before it's buttered. Every parent has their own way of parenting even when it comes down to 'toast', but in my house my kids would never have got away with not eating it just because it was cold.
If i were you i would take over the role of doing the toast for your child.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Another one here that prefers to eat cold toast - with butter and Marmite alongside a hot cup of tea.
Maybe no more toast but either bread or a healthy cereal instead?0 -
