Looking for a little bit of help (and hoping this is the right place). I have just made a plate pie today and have a small ball of the shortcrust pastry left over (tennis ball size if that). Any suggestions as to what I could do with it? I can just stick it in the freezer and add to it but thought maybe someone could come up with a slightly more creative use. Thanks

Squash in some tasty cheese. Roll out and cut into strips. Twist the strips slightly. Put on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden and crispy. Lovely cheese bites.

  • I frequently get a little bit of pastry left over, and I usually always have a bit of mincemeat somewhere in my cupboards from last Christmas, so I make little mince pies. Early, I know, but you can buy them in the shops and home baked pre-Christmas treats... ;)

used the last of the yoghurt in a yoghurt cake. flavoured with an old lemon and tangerine from the fruitbowl. Made some into buns and used the juice with some icing sugar to decorate.

Last of the ham gone into butties for tomorrow and the last one in the freezer for an emergency lunch. Ate the left over risotto, as ds forgot to take it for his lunch.

End of a jar of pesto went on a pizza.

I do like clearing out bits and pieces!

  • Did mash, bacon (slices off my raw ham before I SC'd it) and tin of spaghetti and sausages for DDs tonight.

I wasn't hungry earlier, but now am so grabbed a handful of mash, a tablespoon or so of finely sliced leek (leftover in bottom of fridge from the broth I made over a week ago) and same of chopped (well, crumbled!) SC'd ham and salt & pepper. Formed into two rosti type things, fried in butter for my tea whilst watching CSI.

    Awesome. :)
  • Added the left over rice from last nights curry to hm spicy squash soup for lunch today. Delish
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
