Can anyone help me decide how to have leftover curry? I made a veggie one the other day and don't wanna have it again with rice etc, what could I do with it to make it different? CheersProfessional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

If the sauce is thick enough, try making it into a pie.I had a nice one bought from the butchers the other week.Very nice.
Or even thin the sauce down a bit,add some cream & have as a soup.Add some rice noodles to it as well.0 -
If you have a freezer, slice onions and slowly fry until soft, then freeze in manageable amounts, then the next time you need onions you don't have to bother peeling etc.0

I've got 4 onions that were given to me, they are huge and I don't use onion very much, I am going to chop them up in my food processor and freeze, I don't bother with cooking them before hand. Then I just take out how much I need as and when. I've also frozen some (ready!) grated cheese as I don't eat it very often but I had a huge craving for some cheese on top of a homemade tomato sauce (with tinned toms, garlic etc) and wheat free pasta - deliciousKEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -

If you don't want to have it with rice, just have a naan bread with it. The other thing I'd try to do is thicken up the sauce somehow - perhaps a bit of chickpea flour - and add some more veggies and then either bake them into little bhaji-type snacks or lightly fry them.
I must try that myself!

Ok, who's up for a challenge?
I have...
1. Cooked chicken, not much of it and it needs a thorough recook as it's been in the fridge a while. To make this complicated I don't fancy curry or anything tomato based or pie, so that's all my staple ideas out then!
2. A packet of paella rice.
Perhaps those two go together?
3. Half a tube of condensed milk I'd rather stop looking at every time I open the fridge.
4. More semolina than you can shake a stick at (not made up yet).
5. Eight empty orange halves (ie. just peel). I've got a new toy (all singing all dancing processor) and I have been playing with the juicer this afternoon!
So, how many, if any, of those can I get through then?I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

I'm always up for a challenge. You could do a jambalaya with the chicken, some bacon or ham, veggies and the paella rice. Just add stock, a bit of tomato puree or passata, garlic, herbs, paprika and some chilli flakes and let it cook until the rice is done and it goes lovely and sticky.
Shame it's really the wrong time of year for hot puds as I'd be tempted to try to make rice pudding with the condensed milk and the rest of the paella riceI remember seeing a bit in a book about making candied peel for dried mixed fruit (it was a wartime cookbook) but I've never tried it myself. Yet. Here's a recipe for it though.
Hope that helps a bit!

Also, I just wanted to post my leftover success of tonight. I had 4 sausages and 2 rashers of smokey bacon. I skinned the bangers and snipped the bacon into tiny pieces and then mixed them together into patties. I grilled these on the health grill and had them in wholemeal rolls (which also needed using up) with a fried egg on top. Mmm, delicious!
