DD made a lasagne tonight and had about two tablespoons of meat sauce left over which she was going to bin as there are only three in her family of 7 who eat it .I swiftly grabbed it and put into a lidded pot and brought home.Once cold it was put into my freezer and will be used as a topping for a jacket spud at some point I just hate to see anything wasted.God I'm such a tightwad at times.0

You could also use the tahini to substitute for sesame paste/ peanut butter in Chinese recipes - my book says to use peanut butter if you don't have chinese sesame paste - but how much difference can there be in sesame pastes?“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Summer vegetable pate - a good way of using up those courgettes or soft tomatoes:
Put a mixture of avocado, raw courgette, chopped onion, tomato, Greek Yoghurt and a handful of nuts into a mini blender and whizz until smooth. If you want a thicker mixture, add a few tinned butter or borlotti beans. You can vary the mixture according to what's available. Even the odd cooked potato will thicken the mixture well.
Serve on toast or as a tasty starter on a bed of salad leaves.0 -

My husband made some of this for his breakfast, spiced up with a little chopped chilli in. Must say, I was very impressed with it. He's trying to diet and produces all kinds of interesting mixtures with combinations of raw oats, vegetables, beans and yoghurt in our mini processor. Wouldn't be without it!0

What is a mini processor? Would a liquidiser do or one of those hand held whizzers?0

They're a simplified miniature version of the jumbo Kenwood processor, costing around £20 and are available in most electrical shops such as Comet. They have a small round see through container with a metal blade and see-through lid and just process (i.e. pulp) small amounts of food. We have a hand held whizzer and have never tried using this method although I guess it would work if you have a deep jug in which to whizz your products. I think a liquidiser might probably reduce it down too far, i.e. literally to a liquid which is not really what you want, unless you want to drink it as a juice.0
