Powerful thread
Am I right in saying the following...
If I ring up my local store now and ask them to reserve me a stand, I then goes on down 5 minutes later, pay a penny and take a beautiful stand home with me...right?

Someone is selling 3 stands starting off @ £6.99 each if anyone is going down the ebay route
Item number - 290069514750
EDIT - Before anyone asks they are not mine, just in case some people think I am coming here to advertise my auctions0 -
Reserved two, went in 2 hours later and was told by the manager "No chance, pal".
He said there was no way I could have a stand as they were for sale (all the stands) with TVs. I pointed out the various phrases and terms on the web site which said I paid the price shown, etc. but he wouldn't budge an inch.
At the end of the day, he wasn't rude or dismissive and we had a good laugh about it. I don't blame him; as the manager it's in his interest to look after his store, and in his position I would have done exactly the same. He said if I could order them from the web and get them at that price, fair play.
Ne'er mind, eh? Maybe next time0 -

Yes. But you'd not be wanting to carry it too far. I bought one and took a bus as it dropped me near enough to outside my place.
You will want to minimize the distance you have to walk with it as it weighs a bloody ton! Without wishing to be sexist I don't think a most women of average strength would be able to carry it for example.0 -

Have a read of that for a couple of weeks.
Charging £300+ for a 3 year warranty, the 1st year of which is free anyway, is a lot nearer theft.
EDIT:
Just noticed your username. Taking it hard are we?
Theft?
What should I be taking hard?? Whatever way you wish to justify it, if you lie in the way you suggested then that is obtaining goods by deception.
Also I think you'll find that Currys haven't charged up front for warranties for a least 12+ months. They are now pay monthly for example a fridge freezer with a price of £149 is only £1 per month. :rotfl:0 -

What right does someone have to spoil someones auction no matter what they are selling as long as it's legal to sell on ebay and they are paying ebay fees etc.......NONE
Just looked at one of your previous posts and noticed you also place false bids on ebay which is out of order, hope the seller reported you....lol
Even though the auction you ruined was a dodgy one you should just report it to ebay and let them remove it rather than placing false bids.

As we all know Ebay are very quick to do NOTHING about the auctions and rarely remove the listings by which time someone has lost money . Why the hell shouldn't I place a bid on an auction that is basically theft ?

Every right if they are a scammer !
And no , the thieving sh*t whose auction I wrecked didn't report me , he couldn't really as it would have alerted Ebay to his SCAMS !
No , I wouldn't wreck an auction for one of the stands as it is not a scam but it is the greedy b*stards like the person that had reserved 10 stands !
that spoil it for others on here .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

1) placing false bids even if the auction is a scam can end up landing you in trouble with ebay even if your doing it for a good reason as it clearly says in their terms regarding false bids etc....
It is easier to let the other buyers know what's going on that they are bidding in a scam auction and let them be the judge, ebay were quick recently when I report a listing they removed it very quick but that's not to say they are that quick all the time
2) Who's to say the people on ebay are selling loads of the stands (have you checked their other items they are selling) what's the harm in someone selling a stand as it states nowhere that you cannot re-sell something on for a profit and they are not being greedy if they have one to sell(fair enough if they order 10 which is taking the p**S)0 -

Do you think Currys buy items and sell them for no profit, I don't think so.
By the way, I have one on order and if I do get one, It will be going on Ebay as its no good for my silver Tv. My Ebay ID is the same as on this forum.
Sorry, I think you have picked me up wrongly there. I have absolutely nothing against people selling the stands on Ebay. Good on them. If I had one I would probably do the same. I just thought it was funny that people were bidding from 0.01p to 0.05p for them. If I cant get one at Currys for a penny, I'll just spend my penny on Ebay!!. Must be my odd sense of humour I guess.0 -

I will reiterate once again , I have NOT wrecked any of the stand auctions and I see no problem if someone goes and gets 1 of the stands and then sticks it on Ebay , what I do have a problem with the the greedy gits who reserve 10 at a time and ruin it for others . Another example of that is the Woolworths £150 TV post , people were ordering 2 x 32" 2 x 37" and 2 x 42" TV's at one time ! Talk about alerting them to the fact in such an obvious manner .
We are all on this site to save money one way or another but certain people are extremely greedy and ruin it for the other people who wanted just the 1 stand or 1 TV to give an example .
When I went to collect my stands the guys said there are 15 more out the back , would you like them too . I said no . I could have quite easily fitted them into my car and then took them home to stick on Ebay but why should I stop another person from getting one . I only needed the 2 that I took .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
