I have jst had the WORST experience I have ever had in a shop in my life!

The manager reduced me to tears in front of everyone!

I went in with my Samsung reservation - woman was annoied said she would have to speak to manager.. fine he said I could have it that was great.

Gave her my Phillips one and the lady was incenced said I was taking the P!55 in those exact words infront of everyone!.. went to manager.. who said I could have phillips but not samsung as they had none in stock.. But I already paid for it and had reciept!.. I said they were lying as they had samsung stock b4 they knew I wanted a Phillips aswell..

The manager shouted at me YOUR BARRED and said he was refunding me the samsung and I was getting NOTHING.. I refused to accept the refund and as I had recipt they had to give me my goods!.. He said was was being flippant and was barred!..

they told me to sign sumthing saying I was returning item as an unwanted gift.. I said it was surely illegal to force me to sign something that was lies.. as I didnt want a refund and the gift wasnt unwanted.

A lady who worked there came over and said the way I had been treated was terrible and gave me head office number.. I called spoke to Gavin (LOVELY MAN).. he then spoke to the Cheeky manager.

The manager came out said he would give me the Samsung as goodwill.. and apologised.. he then said I could have Phillips aswell.. brought me 2 down.. So they WERE lying!

    Im still in shock!

That's well out of order, have you made a complaint for the way you were treated as it's not your fault that you have purchased an item for the price that "Curry's" have advertised.

Whatever happened to the customer is always right? at the end of the day you would think you were taking the money out of the employees pockets the way they carry on. When I collected mine the girl on the till was shocked at the price and happily completed the transaction

we had a similer experience sheryl but not as bad. iv now complained to the office and to trading standards but they never once offered any kind of apology or anything. i heard most people get offered vouchers or something when they have this experiance but we got nothing. just our luck.

i can understand people ordering one or two but the greed part is ordering 5 or 6 then seeling them all. i really wanted one and was going to sell my old one but thanks to the person who bought 6 i cant have even 1. thanks alot you muppet
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed
  • I have just managed to reserve one for tomorrow and have printed off my confirmation.
They took my signature away!!!!

Thanx for your support people.. My main probs were/are..

I was "BARRED" for saying they were lying - THEY WERE!..

And I had paid for and recieved a reciept for the Samsung - They tried to FORCE me to return.. getting me to sign saying was unwanted gift!.. It wasnt unwanted.

What happened was the counter staff were being told what to say by management, the panicked when questioned.. this lead to them getting wound up.. leading to over reactions.. all on their part.

I will write a letter tomoz.. Gavin in Cust Serv on the phone was Lovely really calmed me down.

I would defo follow it up for the way you have been treated, when they forced you to sign a bit of paper did they take your receipt off you?

Wonder if they have it all on CCTV so you can prove their behaviour in a complaint as am sure you can request video footage of you under some regulation or other via a letter to someone (sure I heard this a while ago).

Sheryl ... the way they treated you was disgusting.

I would wait until tomorrow to to write as you need to write with a clear calm head and the right attitude. Make notes now and try to remember everything they said to you and names if possible. If you cannot remember names, go into the store tomorrow, walk up to the assistant and check the name tag or ask ... if they query it tell them the truth ... you need it for your letter to head office.

Currys advertised the product at that price, Currys accepted the reservation, Currys gave you the reservation number, Currys own T&C's state you pay the price off the website, Currys treated you badly and Currys reduced you to tears!!!!

None of this is your fault regardless of the price of the item, whether it be 1p of £1000.

Good Luck and let us know how you get on!

If someone had done that to me in a showroom and I had refrained from giving him a smack in the mouth then I would definately name and shame the branch and manager concerned. As mentioned in an earlier post Currys are aware of the "post" so there is a good chance a member of management could read it, or is it just a case of its free pubicity??? regardless of whether it's good or bad

sumone who used to work with my OH was a customer at the store at the time and they jst called to see if I was OK they wnet to the trouble of finding our number from a friend thats how bad it was.

I have the names of those who I dealt with.

They took my reciept and then gave me the thing to sign saying I was returning it as an unwanted gift.. I REFUSED point blank to sign this, saying it WAS NOT an unwanted gift.. it was very much wanted and for them to say otherwise was more lies.
