Although it lets me reserve one, my confirmation changes the store location to somewhere else in the country.
Anyone else having this problem?0 -
Just got back from kingston park (newcastle). I was going shopping anyway, so thought I pop in. I Never use Currys, Dixons, etc. otherwise.
Lady on the till new nothing about it and asked someone to enquire about it. They left me waiting for over half an hour (I ended up just wondering around looking at all the junk they sell, so the time went by reasonably quickly).
My fiance and child ended up coming into the store to wait with me, so I decided to ask the gentleman whether anything had been decided. He replied that they had none in stock, but the manager wounldn't of let me have one anyway, as it's a mistake which is being rectified.
I got the impression thst the manager had made him say this and he felt uneasy, he'd been walking around serving people all the time I'd been waiting, without mentioning this.
Does anyone have any advise on contacting trading standards about this.
Also the stands where in stock, I noticed 4 boxed and one open on top at the back of the store while waiting around.0 -
I think Currys are making a bit of a mess with this. I called the store to confirm that a Samsung stand was reserved for me and that it was 1p. I was told yes it was and that I would indeed pay 1p. I got to the store about 20 mins later and was made to wait about 15 minutes. I then had the manager come out and say they were out of stock. I told him I had one laid aside with my name on it and he said it had been sold earlier. He then said they had 3 and that they were needed as they were part of a set and if he sold me one he would not be able to sell the TV and stand as a set. He then said he had some reserved for people who were buying the TV's. There online reservation system is very obviously flawed if this is the case.
I said to him if it is a genuine mistake just tell me but he stuck to his three stories.
I wish I had not bothered as I took my 11 yr old daughter with me who overheard the lady who was serving me say she "couldnt be Ar*ed with this"
I actually went in to buy a fridge and thought I would give the stand a try with no real thoughts I would get it. Came away with no fridge and a poor opinion of Currys.0 -
I have looked on the currys website - and can't find it - is that because it has been removed? Anyone help?
TIA Inkie0 -

If you go on the trading standards website (cannot remember the address) you can do an online query with all your details and phone number and they normally get back to you very quickly as I asked for advice a while ago as I purchased a mountain bike from toys r us which was faulty and they blamed it on me but got it replaced in the end after advice from trading standards on which route to take
Keep any copies of the reservation page if you printed it out as they may ask you for proof it you complain0 -
